morhlis: Thank you! It took awhile but I've finally got it working and the textures look great! Man, this is what Blood 2 should have been!

By the way, do you recommend French Meat?

doccarnby: French Meat is decent enough.
I'll have to try it out then!

HenitoKisou: French Meat is kind of nice, like The Way of All Flesh meets A Farewell to Arms shortened to single episode. There are good designs but main emphasis is put into gameplay so you won't have much time exploring and look for details.

My favourite from this one: People Juice Factory, Fire Wings Airport, Cabalcaida666 Airline. Good looks but not so great gameplay flow: first three maps. Last ones (Corpses Museum and The Clowny Area) are just straightforward action with one boss map without credits screen. How? If you beat Clowny Area it will restart to the beginning of the level but with actual weapons, ammo, health and armor after battle. Also if you killed only one boss and reload the game it will immediately restart to the beginning of the level so actually just one boss triggers map ending.

Bloody Pulp Fiction enters with interesting designs but they aren't good when you want MAX them, so not always all secrets or enemies to kill are possible. It's all about story, they will speak plot about level but half of them is just plainly retarded (for example, Cultists of the Corn, you do all those crazy things just to get Gasoline in room near the beginning). Living Deadlands as kind of ancient one lifeform degenerated beyond recognition is neat idea (reminds me body of The Many from SS2) but actual gameplay is so wrong in several places. It's not best mod, certainly feels it was fan made but before Death Wish that one have been the most unique. Also, it has Monolith. xd
See as you're well versed on these mods which one would you rate as the best?

What you can consider as modification of a game is only Bloody Pulp Fiction, so it wins in that category. But French Meat is addon, not mod so can't be compared with BPF. It's better than Rage Against The Machine but inferior to Death Wish obviously. Death Wish relates to all previous stuff (Post Mortem, Blood1, Cryptic Passage, Blood2) and despite using only stock textures feels like real sequel to Blood should be, at least I consider this as a fan made sequel to whole One Unit Whole Blood and Blood 2: The Chosen couldn't exist if we have DW or at least made canon or sourceported into legitimate sequel. So yes, Death Wish is king here. French Meat is on second place.
DeathWish is a fantastic piece of work, I cannot recommend it enough.
Rage Against the Machine was decent enough, essentially a retelling of the first game, but it ends way before you think it should.
Scourge of Humanity has some decent levels, and is really long, but there are several levels that have bad design choices (start the level with a cultist facing you so that once it loads you're getting shot!) and I was right at the very end and hit a bug that kept me from progressing.
I only just got BPF working (thanks, HenitoKisou!) so I can't really comment on it yet.
Excellent ^^

When I scan the 7Z, AVG registers some 'potentially dangerous objects' and deletes the whole thing!
Does anyone know if the file is safe to unzip?
Thanks in advance.
I am really confused how to setup this up. I wish someone could do a quick video on how to do this, I am more of a visual person

Edit: Nvm got it working

I've never played Blood before, what do these mods do?
Can't find Appdata/Local/Temp/MMBPlayer\G (cut off)?

I can't choose an Episode/Map with this thing blocking out the selection.
Recently I moved from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and now the game is slow and stuttery when running through the launcher, regardless of which renderer I use. It still runs decently through the vanilla GOG release, but I really don't want to go back - this launcher is super, super fantastic. Any thoughts? Anybody else have this problem?

Yeah, I'm also having a bit of a framerate issue with playing Blood through the launcher. I'm using this on my laptop and, while I can't imagine that it would have trouble running Blood, I'll see how it does on my desktop later tonight.

Having read through the whole thread, I'm not clear on whether these two issues were resolved--

1) The launcher installation directions tell you to overwrite "game.inst" ... but there is no "game.inst" file. The closest file I can find is "game.ins". Are you supposed to rename it or something?

2) Was it resolved whether the MMBPlayer that all out antiviruses keep flagging really is malware? Lots of people have encountered this, myself included, but no one on this forum has clearly said whether it's a false positive or whether there really is an infection. Anyone know for sure?

It's the same file, never version of GOG installer changed some settings and file names, for example now [autoexec] part of dosboxBlood.conf is now separate file, dosboxBlood_single.conf and game.inst is game.ins to avoid confusion between game files and installer ones.

launcher probably using specific and outdated type of code that gets mistaken by antivirus through heuristic scanning.

I'm having two issues with the launcher:

1) It takes forever for it to open. I tried deleting all of the mods' folders and it still takes a good 30 seconds for it to open. Vanilla GOG Blood starts as soon as I click on the shortcut.

2) When using the launcher, my weapon and the health/ammo bar sometimes flicker when I'm near a wall. This doesn't happen with the vanilla version. Changing the resolution to something lower than 800x600 seems to fix it, but then the screen size is way too small.

Other than that, amazing release.

I just found out that a rescripted version of Bloody Pulp Fiction was released recently. Although not the greatest episode pack, It's still worth a play especially now that the texture bug has been fixed.

However, can someone help me figure out a way to get this running on the launcher? Unfortunately playing it alone on a 800x600 window without BMOUSE support or CD music isn't doing it for me, and despite my best efforts I couldn't get it to work on the launcher. I can only presume I'm doing something wrong, so if any experts at modding blood files can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I also reported the issue with screen resizing makes the screen quite small for some reason, requiring me to reset the screen resolution in the blood in-game setting screen each time I relaunch blood. Someone posted on here a few pages back that it might be an error in which blood and the launcher each read their own .cfg file for the resolution settings, and that they might accidentally double (or in this case halve) the resolution you actually wanted. There is no fix that I've found. Has anyone else found a fix for this issue?

I've just abandoned the real blood and moved on to bloodcm. It's pretty close to the real thing, but you can use a high resolution texture pack with it. And it doesn't require any tinkering!
