I really, really wanted to try this, but the download rate is horrible, at least on my computer. Like, 21 kb/s horrible :P

I followed the directions for the GOG version and got nothing.

The game still works through Start menu but nothing through this launcher.

Well, got the Launcher to work finally.

None of the mods work but the maps load fine.
Never mind, I feel pretty dumb for not reading the posts.

Just started using this and I think it's amazing! After following all of the instructions I took a screenshot of what the launcher looks like because I must have messed something up.

Edit:
Fixed it, it was Microsoft Security Essentials thinking it was a threat.

I HAVE DOWNLOADED THE LAUNCHER AND THE PATCH'S. unzip patche's but keep getting virus threat's when clicking on one whole unit of blood. Plus nothing seem's to work when i click on the icons on the launcher screen. help

Please note that you need to install all three patches, 0.9.5 DOES NOT contain 0.9.4 files, 0.9.6 does not contain both 0.9.4 and 0.9.5, etc...!

Once all the smaller bugs are discovered I'll be making one unified patch, as well as a new version of the entire package for new people. Apologies for the annoying patches.

Some bonuses for using this:
- a central place for all things OUWB (well, mostly, you still have to go through setup.exe for multiplayer hosting, but you can launch that from it), you can easily add it to Steam or a Dock software of your choice (like RocketDock for example) - running Blood with Plasma or Cryptic Passage is easy as pie,

- lets you jump straight to any episode and map via the interface (includes pictures of the levels to jog your memory in case you don't exactly remember which level is which anymore),

- includes over 700 custom levels, pre-configured map editor through dosbox, zBlood (Blood in gzDoom), YANG (you will however need to configure this yourself, but it allows online multiplayer) and includes a switch for overlay settings and fullscreen options,

- fixes some of the gog.com release music tracks by providing an alternative file set and includes the "Mark McWane" re-orchestration of the original midi music,

- is configured to a "modern" control scheme (WSAD, space is jump, e is open, mouseclicks are primary and secondary fire, has mouselook turned on at all times via the excellent bMouse),

- has a ton of modifications pre-configured so you don't have to worry about using .bat files to install mods, and you can just launch them via the launcher - all use bMouse as well,

If you get any problems, or have troubles installing this (essentially it boils down to "copy a clean install of gog.com's OUWBlood game without overwriting any files" into all the folders in /Games/ EXCEPT /Games/CDMount (move game.gog and game.inst there if you want videos, otherwise music works just fine) , /Games/GZDoom-Blood (is a gzDoom-to-Blood game) and /Games/zmbv (a folder DosBox uses), post here.

A: Open /Games/dosboxBlood.conf, change scaler=none to scaler=normal2x - that fixes the stretch.

Yeah, I'm running into the same problem. Is it because I'm on windows 7 64 bit?

I used the installer, and then copied all of the Blood files into the correct folder, and then pasted them into all of the required mods.

But nothing happens when I click on the .exe. My mouse just displays the blue circle for a bit and then... nothing!

Same problem here- AVG Free whines about "generic trojan" in One Unit Whole Blood launcher.
After discarding antivirus popup launcher starts but apparently some graphic files are not present, most likely due to antivirus activity.
No other problems besides this

Two things

1. Have you updated the DOSBox config to route IPX network over IP for normal internet / LAN multiplayer?
If so, could you post the Port settings.


2. I'm getting the same virus warnings as the above posts.
MSSE quarantines the MMBPlayer DDLs so the launcher doesn't work.

Could you please do a scan of your system and check that these aren't superfluous?

Why do I have to copy the whole of the game into nine different mod folders? That alone raises the size of this mess from 570MB to 5.1GB. Add that to the rest of the launcher package AND the files you had to copy for the game proper, and you have a tonne of files adding up to 6.8GB. This would be justifiable if the package included hi-res polygonal models and textures, new particle FX, etc., but even then the HRP version of Duke Nukem 3D was little over 1GB. There's got to be a more efficient way of doing this.

On the mods, some of the walls have the grey wolf creature on a purple background instead of said wall texture.

You probably talking about Bloody Pulp Fiction. Unfortunately it's the mod problem itself and relocation of certain textures so it will appear in 1.2 and 1.3 version of the mod no matter what. Still, this is not game-breaking error or glitch so...

^^^That's the one. I downloaded the mod when it came out in 2009 and had no problems aside from picking up the Life Leech weapon (it kicked me out to desktop).

It's very distracting.


Also, is Sect War supposed to be that hard? What's the story?

I can't even use the installer. It says it couldn't open the folder or something. By default its using 7 zip. Can I use winrar? Won't let me change it...

nvm, download was corrupted. Downloading again.

Edit: I got it working, i think? The display looks very messed up and bright in any of the render modes, and is extremely choppy. What did I do wrong?

Edit(again): The install.txt instructions are unclear, and I was unable to install this correctly, not to mention if it wants me to copy and paste ALL blood files into EACH folder, this takes a huge amount of space, it's ridiculous. Deleting the entire thing for now, I'll try it again if there's some more clear instructions that release.
