Man, thanks for porting the update to win7! The update now runs ok, but I still have one minor issue. The narrated intro with the flyer is now in Swedish. From "This is where I leave you..." on everything else so far is in English. The dialogues and the whole interface is in English too. I haven't yet come around to another narrated section, so I can't tell whether it's just the intro or all narration.

I tried updating both from a fresh install and using the WAV update beforehand.

Is there a way (a hexedit maybe?) to switch the narration language to English?

Thanks!
Hi AldaHALtar,

Uninstall totally Atlantis The Lost Tales and delete the folder.
Reinstall it using GOG Galaxy (English) or the offline Installer (English).
Then update the game again with my patcher (be sure English is selected).
Don't use the WAV fix (only after tested this).

My patcher and the WAV fix not add or change any voices in the game.
They only change some sounds effects, cutscenes and musics.
But voices remains exactly the same installed by GOG.
(So if a voice file has been changed manually, my patcher will not change that. that's why you need to reinstall the game).

Also the Swedish language is not supported yet (only English, French, Deutsch, Italian and Spanish).
So it's maybe you used something else who add something Swedish to the game.

Well I did this and everything is in SWEDISH even tho I chose English TWICE. What....

Also, you can't install old Frameworks on Win10.

It's def not an issue at our side. I also installed everything only from the links provided in this thread, the first post and mine is is SWEDISH too. I do not live in Sweden nor do I speak the language. Despite uninstalling and reupdating, choosing English every time, it is still in Swedish. When I installed from GOG, selected language was English.

EDIT: I didn't do the sound fix, didn't replace the files and it was in English. So you probably have Swedish audio files.

Hi ILoveYou !
Indeed you have right, it's not in my patch but in my sound fix package.

I have misplaced the file "33INTRO.APC" who shoudn't be in the package (it's the voice of the narrator in the first cutscene).
Normally the Sound Fix should contains only sounds effects and musics. It's now fixed.

Here is the original 33INTRO.APC (English) :
https://we.tl/t-oVrm6PqvhF

Copy it to the WAV folder in the Atlantis installation folder (It will ask to replace it).

Redownload the SoundFix package.
I have fixed the SoundFix package (no more Sweden voice !).
So can now use it.

For the Framework it's only for older Windows (Windows 8 and lower).
On Windows 10 it's already installed by default (so no need to reinstall it).

Thanks guys for your tests, don't hesitate to post anything else if you find something.
Also any feedbacks are greatly apprecied :)

Thanks for the help :) For some reason my game is very blurry and blotchy still, even with the patch that you have so kindly provided. Tried using different resolutions with no luck

ILoveYou: Thanks for the help :) For some reason my game is very blurry and blotchy still, even with the patch that you have so kindly provided. Tried using different resolutions with no luck
Hi ILoveYou,

The blurry issues it's the way the game graphics are rendered internaly and upscalled by your graphic card.
Every graphics are rendered in 640x480 and it's your graphic card who upscall them to a HD resolution.
My patch only force your graphic card and your monitor to force the resolution. But not internaly upscall the graphics.
It's upscalled not internally scalled. That's why you can see aliasing and some blurry.
The game lonely itself cannot display 2D graphics on higher resolution than 640x480, because every graphics are pre-calculated and not in 3D. So when you upscall bigger, with my patch, the game, each element are more blurry and pixelated.

The only way to internaly fix that it's to use scaling filters like filters on emulators.
Scaling filters can clean the image by reducing the aliasing and the blurry by adding itself missing informations on the picture to the upscall. The implementation of filters in Atlantis The Lost Tales will be too much difficult to do. So for the moment it's not in the todolist.

You using a 4K Monitor or a 1080p Monitor ?

The blurry effect can be a lot more noticeable on 4K Monitor because your graphic had some issues to upscall a 640x480 resolution to a HD resolution (my patch only force to a HD Resolution not a 4K resolution) then convert it to your internal 4K Monitor.
If it's the case, try to lower your Monitor and Windows Graphic Card to 1080p or 720p.

On a HD Monitor it's less noticeable but still very noticeable.
The perfect solution to have a pixel perfect solution is to play the game on CRT VGA Monitor in 640x480. The picture will be clear and the aliasing on all edge will be more clean.

When using a HD Monitor i recommand theses settings :

Control FPS : 25
Display : Windowed Full Screen
Resolution : 640x480

The game will be in a small windows with black borders, but in a 1:1 pixel perfect display.
The blurry and aliasing effect will be reduced but not totally.

To force a big picture without adding too much noices on the picture you need a HD Monitor who support the 640x480 internal resolution (not upscall to 1080p).
Then use your HD Monitor (not your graphic card) to force a 640x480 resolution with no scalling at all.

I guess the only way (without software) to have a HD signal with proper scaling is to plug the VGA of your computer (when outputing a real 640x480 resolution) to a OSSC (Open Source Scan Converter), use filters on it and output the signal to a HDMI Monitor. By this way the picture will be more sharper.

| QUICK NOTE ABOUT RANDOM FREEZE _______|
------------------------------------------------------------

Originaly GOG Unpatched Atlantis The Lost Tales has got some random freezes on some CPU/Graphic Card Setup.
My patch Extended Cut, by default, setup the game in a stable and no freeze mode using this settings :

STABLE SETTINGS
- FPS Settings : 30 FPS (Or lower, use 25FPS to get the normal speed of the game)
- Display : Full Screen
- Resolution : 1920x1080

This setting is the ONLY settings to use with incompatible setup (= people who got freezes before).

I know lot of speedrunner and Twitch streamers liked my Windowed Full Screen mode and Window Mode.
(It's way more easier with OBS Capturing).

But they disable some optimizations and stabilisations on the game in order to enable theses modes.
It means, if you have an incompatible setup, who will encounter random freezes during gameplay on theses modes.
And NOT in full screen mode at 30 fps or lower (this mode is 100% freezes less, tested by many and many players) :)
Theses "Windowed" and "Windowed Full Screen" mode are perfectly fine for "compatible setup" (= people who never get any freeze before).

Note :
Example of a "compatible setup" (mine setup, so need of a VM or using Extended's Stable Settings) :
Intel i7-6700K at 4.2Ghz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 980Ti
GSkills 16 GB of RAM DDR4
Windows 10 Professionnal (64 bits)

BUT ! There is a way to get a compatible setup with a incompatible setup using a VMWare Workstation on Windows 7 (64 bits).
By this way you will use a emulated CPU and Graphic Card (= now a compatible setup).

So theses lines are only for people who got freeze before and doesn't want to use the "stable settings"
(streamers, speed runners etc...)

I) Install VmWare Workstation Pro (lastest version)
2) Use a ISO of Windows 7 64 bits (any version)
3) Install Windows 7 on the Virtual Machine
4) Install on it, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 : DOWNLOAD HERE
5) Install on it, GOG Galaxy OR a offline GOG Atlantis The Lost Tales Setup
6) Install on it, Atlantis The Lost Tales
7) Install on it, the Sounds Fixer package : DOWNLOAD HERE
8) Patch the game with the lastest version of the Extended Cut :
DOWNLOAD HERE

Now launch the shortcut "Atlantis - The Lost Tales" or "ATLANTIS.EXE"
You can NOW use any mode you want, at any resolution, any display mode, any framerate without any freeze.

Like i said earlier it's only for incompatible setup, people who never get any freeze who see no differences at all !

Thanks Twilight Adventures for the video !
Will you fix the missing credits music ?

It was this one : https://pierreesteve.bandcamp.com/track/sunriders

We can't hear it when exiting the game, for example.

Also, it seems that the game can't support Alt-Tab really well, the music will be completely mixed-up.

Hi Gimlao,

Thanks for your comment.
This issue is already written on the minor bug list.
I'm working on the V1.3 version who include some new fixes on the main game.
I will try to look into the missing credits music bug and include it into the V1.3 ;).

For the Alt-Tab issue with musics i cannot do anything for that.
Some games doesn't support Alt-Tab hotkeys and can occurs bugs.

Best Regards.

Hi matthew97,

Thanks for finding this bug, it was an issue with my apache server.
It's fixed now.

Best Regards.
Thank you thank you! I've been looking forward do this for so long, especiallty the Swedish language support. I'm so grateful for your work and you're worth all creds for this. I just want to add some reflections and findings:

The cutscenes were very laggy when I started the game with default settings. I tried experimenting with framerate but it did not help. I had to run it in the "Windowed fullscreen mode" feature to make it work perfectly. It was not a problem since it was fullscreen anyways. Just for other people to know. Also the game suddenly crashes from time to time at 30FPS. Seems like it's some quicktime spinner bar that appears before game crashes. I lowered to 25fps and it worked better, but it still crashes from time to time, but the game always auto saves so it's not that big of an issue. Maybe every 30 minutes or similar. Sometimes it does not crash at all for hours.

Also, while doing the rat puzzle with the trolls chasing the queen, that quicktime spinner appeared every 10 seconds and I thought the game was about to crash, but it never did. It made me very nervous though.

I totally love the new music added at the stone head beach. Though the new dialog with hector inside the volcano (Moria?) after the spinning lady, that dialogue was totally worthless. It really destroyed all the mystic feeling you have at that place. Also, the cube told you that "Hector, you will never see him again", and then suddenly he was screaming to you inside the volcano "Seth, what are you doing? You've been gone for a week...me and Naka bla bla...please say hello to him from me, good luck lol". That part was totally ridiculous. I really understand why they removed that dialogue. I would suggest keeping it in the "I've played atlantis before" option, but maybe it's already like that.

And sometimes when you quit the game, you have to watch the full credits before game stops running no matter what you click. And you have to click about 20 times on your user profile before game actually reacts on the click.

Also, the user interface in the patch startup screen looks veeeery basic and non-professional. It's just a suggestion to improve it if you wish. I do not complain. I totally love you for all your hard work with this. Just use this as feedback!
