Francis90: Hello,
First of all thanks for the works.
However, I have two problems:
When I arrive at the home page, I can't select my pseudo and display it on the upper of the screen, the mouse clicks have no effect, and a moment later the games starts anyway.
There is a significant effect of tearing of the image in the horizontal direction, I tried to activate Vsync in the options of my nVidia graphics card but it won't work.
Thank you
Hi Francis90,
Just double-click fast on your pseudo it will load your save (the game need fast clicks only on the main menu).
Sometimes the game doesn't correctly register mouse input in the main menu (cause of CPU clock issues)
Just clicks 2-3 times fast on your pseudo to fix this.
It's the only moment in the game to have this issue.
(It was already present when the game was released for Windows 95)
The effect of tearing of the image is present because the game had every game ressources in 640x480.
Every cutscenes, pictures, 3D models are all rendered in 640x480.
Today with LCD Screen everything is upscalled to 1080p or 720p.
But when you upscall a lower resolution image to 1080p you got some tearing or artefact on the picture like retrogaming consoles.
The best way to reduce this effect is :
- To select "Windowed Full" in the Settings (before starting the game)
- To select a 4:3 resolution in the Settings (before starting the game) like "1280x1024"
Like the game will be upscalled to 1080p but with a internal resolution of 1280x1024 with black bars.
The tearing effect will be a lot reduced. And the correct aspect ratio applied.
And if you really want a pixel perfect resolution, select :
- "Windowed Full"
- "640x480"
The effect of tearing will totally dissapear but the picture will be really small.
The only way to have a real 640x480 at full screen without tearing, it's to use a CRT Monitor (VGA).
This game on a CRT Monitor in VGA is outstanding but very few people still have a CRT Monitor.
Like using a Super Nintendo console on a CRT Television VS LCD TV (for the comparaison).
Best Regards !
