insomniac09: That's excellent. That method proved effective for me too. I'm curious if this latest version with the test fix incorporates all the enhancements from the extended cut versions of the games, such as new dialogues, options, and areas. Have you advanced far enough in the game to verify these additions?

MisterSurrealist: No, this is not the "Extended Cut". This is just the original game, without any additions.
Yeah, checked a few of the additions and they weren’t there. To be honest I really liked the fixes/additions of the extended cut - “perfect editions” tgamesfr made.

Don't worry i will reintroduce Extended Cut fixes and additions on this new fix.
I was just waiting enough people to try this new fix to see if it's stable enough to work on it.

On my tests this new fix is more stable and more reliable than the current version on first page.
For all people i've asked to test this completely removed any crashs so far =).
I will also recompile my launcher using VS 2022 to be more compatible with Windows 11.

When i will have time i will also work on the "HD" version of Atlantis 3 patch to restore Higher Graphics on the GOG version. Along with fixes and additions (new dialogues, new gamemode).

Any chance we could get this game updated to work on the latest version of MAC OS?

This patch saves the game for me but I still have an issue that the cool credits song that plays when quitting no longer plays due to the patch/music fix (it's just silent). Is this still planned to be fix or was the newer versions of the patch abandoned?

New update for the Atlantis Extended Cut Patch !

V1.3.0:
New compiled build with some cleanups in the code (support for old windows keeped).
Ddraw interface is now using DxWrapper for better stability.
Windowed FullScreen is now the default mode (better than native fullscreen for audio playback).
Windowed is now removed (was not suitable for the game).
Some minors fixes on patcher & launcher.

I recommand everyone to uninstall and reinstall the game (to clean the previous version).
Then apply the new patch.

Don't hesitate to post your feedbacks/testings about it.

Hi @tgamesfr - I've got an issue with patching using the "extended cut updater".

I'm on OSX, Apple M1 and I use Porting Kit to play.

I managed to install original GOG Atlantis and can play it without patching. I also managed to install Polish language patch using provided updater and the BIG file.

However, after using the "extended cut updater", I'm not able to start the game any more.
I get a typical windows error popup with big "X" and it's saying that the game is not installed.
At this point I can only uninstall the game and install again but without the patch.

I tried the "extended cut updater" also without Polish language updater with the same effect - "extended cut updater" informs about 100% success but I can't start the game any more. Tried multiple times also with deleting saves - no effect.

I'm happy to help debugging this issue if needed. Once again - I'm on OSX with Porting kit,

Anyway, thank you so much for your work @tgamesfr
Hi @tgamesfr,

I managed to finally install your Atlantis Extended Cut Patch v.1.3.0. without problems on Windows 11.
What I did:

I installed the game with GOG Galaxy
I installed your Extended Cut Updater v.1.3.0 Public version.
I installed the sounds Fixer for GOG release.

In dxwrapper.ini, these were the settings I used:

[General]
WrapperMode = ddraw
DisableLogging = 1

[Compatibility]
Dd7to9 = 1

[Dd7to9]
DdrawUseNativeResolution = 0
DdrawOverrideWidth = 640
DdrawOverrideHeight = 480
DdrawMaintainAspectRatio = 1

[d3d9]
AnisotropicFiltering = 1
AntiAliasing = 1
EnableVSync = 1
ForceVsyncMode = 1
LimitPerFrameFPS = 15
FullscreenWindowMode = 1

I played until the Metamorphosis chamber to look for the Tree of the First, and to be short; never had a crash. So that's really great!! Some observations:

- Maybe you noticed in my Dxwrapper-settings that I choose to play in the low 15 fps. For me, that's exactly how I remembered it when playing back in 1997. I guess for modern gamers it is too low and slow, but I know all cinematics are playing in 15 fps, sooo my guess is the dialogue character-animation are also meant for 15 fps. To me it seems the perfect speed for almost everything. Except the mini-games, which are a bit too slow for my liking. But I remember from 1997, it always was like that. Looking around is perfect, and the mouse-cursor animations (white/black conversation-arrows + golden direction-arrow) are exactly right in their speed of 15 fps.

- The sound under all cinematics is completely "in-sync" now. In the past, Atlantis sometimes played cinematics with the sound too late or to early. (For example, Seth not landed on the ground yet when jumping out of windows, but already you heard the landing-sound) But not anymore. It's perfect now. Always.

- After playing a while, I still had disappearing sounds in mini-games. For example; the puzzle at the metamorphosis chamber when looking for the Tree of the First. Or the solar-system puzzle before entering the prison at the ratcatcher-place. After exiting the game and a fresh restart, the sound was always back in these puzzles.

But other then that: perfect to me and no crash! This version seems very stable. Thank you!!

Really interesting points, edwincartoon! Always a pleasure chatting with fellow *Atlantis: The Lost Tales* fans. I’ll definitely take a look at your dxwrapper settings - sounds like you’re onto something, hehe!
Hello there,

sadly, the Extended Cut no longer works on my Windows 10 machine. I reinstalled Atlantis 1 and then applied the Extended Cut patch, but when I launch the game afterwards, I no longer see my mouse cursor and can't create a new profile (the mouse cursor was working btw. before I applied the patch). I have already tried launching the game with different resolutions, but sadly, the issue persists.
