Not bad at all.
I like this sort of Tactic-Lite game. Its much easier game for me compared to other Xcom and I frankly quite enjoy it!

X-Com destilled
First of all it is much shorter and simpler more focused (I can see someone saying "dumbed down") experience. For me it is a plus. Fights are more of a curated, carefully designed puzzles. You still have research, base building and what not but scope of it all is much more limited. I know that it doesn't sound like a positive review but for me it was a great, short treat that was perfectly designed and very satisfying. It is not a good gateway to "grown up" X-Come since those games are much more free form and sand box'y with large scope and randomized battles. This one gives You tactical battles that are much more interesting but smaller and shorter. Other aspects (World/city map management, squad management, research, base management) are the same, more interesting and impactful but limited in scope compared to previous installments.

XCOM Light, but it scratches the itch
I'm about a third of the way through the game and am enjoying it so far. What the game lacks in deep turn based strategy, it makes up for in story & personality. It lacks permadeath so you don't hold your breath before clicking the button like you do with normal XCOM, but the way you really get to know your squad member's personalities add a dimension that XCOM 2 lacked. I always found myself making up little backstories for my characters in the traditional XCOM so I would feel more attached to them than 'he's my best sniper' kind of way. My genuine hope is that the XCOM franchise. goes the extra mile with XCOM 3 someday by blending Original XCOM's (see Xenonauts) fear of what's behind you, XCOM 2's action, and XCOM Chimera's character driven story into one epic game. Lets see.

Torgue, my beloved
It's a fun title that had me enchanted despite all its obvious flaws and bugs (on release).
