This is one of those games everyone should have in their collection. It is nice, nerdy, funny and loaded with references to movies etc. Gameplay is very good and the progression in this game is neither hard nor easy but it poses as a fun game which is worth your dime. I am playing and enjoying it daily, I am playing it on my Linux machine.
I was lucky enough to get this game when it was on discount, at about 1$. It was definitely worth it. So many games are overpriced and similar nowadays, so this game was like a fresh breeze for me. Even though it was made in 2011, i still find it quite enjoyable. Game like this, and by saying it i mean RPG and platform, brings back my childhood memories. Also, the game contains a lot of witty and funny jokes throughout the whole(i suppose at least, because i'm somewhere in the middle) experience. I recommend it to everyone who would like to play more classic RPG.
I have very much enjoyed playing this game. I found the humour entertaining, although I think it loses some of its flow and spiciness when translated into English audio (I tend to prefer subs over dubs for this reason, but I needed to have English audio to be able to concentrate sufficiently on in-game speech, so I stuck with the slightly awkward affectation of the English acting). I appreciate the RPG mechanics implemented in a platformer. The exploratory aspect of the game - discovering hidden areas and new sections of the castle - is something I thoroughly enjoy. I found the gameplay mechanics pleasurably complex and interesting. The difficulty of some areas in the game (the damned undead!) I found to be very tedious when playing on hard++ difficulty, but most of the challenge in the game is reasonably surmountable . I would have liked the control of the character to be a bit tighter - i sometimes did not manage to control the character with a level of finesse I would have preferred from such a platformer.
I would recommend the game as a good addition to someone's library
A screenshot and the term metroidvania is all I needed to hear to give it a try, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it executes on this premise *very* well.
The RPG elements are light, but really add another layer of depth to the play, allowing your experience to differ if you choose a different specialization.
Needless to say, I'm loving it.
I really like this game. Wasn't sure if I would but thought at the price it was worth a shot. Glad I did. I guess I'm about halfway through but I can't put it down and for me that's a clear sign of a great game. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.
