Tower of Time

I played the whole thing through in a few days. I had a lot of fun. The fights can get a little repetitive after a while, but you will have a large party of diverse characters with fun skills, and you can challenge yourself or not. The localisation is a little bit dodgy (a few dropped articles here or there, a few spelling mistakes), the story sounds sort of classical at the beginning but develops in an interesting way with an ending that honestly got me to tear up a little. You will not really have a character of your own to roleplay in the way you usually assume, but I liked the twist on the traditional "create character, adventure around, interact with NPCs" style. I wouldn't say there was anything super groundbreaking, but if you like these sorts of games, I would recommend to you give it a try.

Ran this with Ubuntu Mate 18.04 and it was great to look at and play. Unfortunately, I just don't like games with crafting so I did not get very far when I hit the section informing me about it early on in the game.

I have just finished the game, and ended up spending around 53½ hours completing all the floors at 100%. It's a fantastic game, that starts off really tough, but gets stupidly easy after a while, once you've worked out how to build your party, and outfit them with good items. The game would have been an even better experience, if it had been perhaps half as long, but it does tend to drag on a bit. The battles get fairly tedious, but thankfully you can set them to double speed, which is what I ended up doing for the vast majority of the game. Still, I don't regret playing it, and have no qualms recommending it. Do yourself a favor and play it on hard. It'll be brutal to begin with, but once you get a wee bit into it, you'll enjoy it all the more for having taken that decision. It'll force you to get creative with the battlefield, and learn all the ins and outs of your skills.

I really am enjoying tower of time. Has a pretty cool story and the environment really makes you want to explore the tower and piece together what is going on. Pillar of Eternity style of combat mixed with diablo esque exploration. Some encounters can be very challenging but in the rpg run (initial difficulty) it is forgiving as you can retry fights over and over. With some perseverance, you can beat difficult battles with positioning and tactical use of your skills. Really fun
