Description

You're on a path in the woods, and at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a Princess. 

You're here to slay her. If you don't, it will be the end of the world.

She will do everything in her power to stop you. She'll charm, and she'll lie, and she'll promise you the world, and if you let her, she'll kill you a dozen times over. You can't let that happen. Don't forget, the fate of the world rests on your shoulders.

You're not going to listen to him, are you? We're supposed to save princesses, not slay them...

  • No, the Princess isn't a cosmic horror. She's just an ordinary human Princess, and you can definitely slay her as long as you put your mind to it.

Slay the Princess is a beautiful narrative of pain, death, love, and transformation. It has so many choices and routes that it's impossible to see them all in one playthrough. While some may come for the terrors of blood, bone, and the unknown, the tender core is what will keep the game in your mind.

Slay the Princess is a horror meta-narrative visual novel about the choices we make, and how they change us and those around us. It’s about the interpersonal relationships that can wound us, make us versions of ourselves we never imagined, yet teach us. It is a damn good story, and one worth experiencing.

It's all about perspective

From a staunch visual novel hater - I loved this experience. The writing, which is vital to something like this, is top marks. Each story is well crafted, but more than that, there's a lot to unpack in those stories. A number of them can be symbolized in more than one way, or applied to various relationship dynamics. But each story is simply a different perspective. They really meant it when they say there are no wrong choices. Sometimes horrifying, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes profound. Slay the Princess is an essential experience. - Certified visual novel hater.

More than just a gimmick game

A game of this type lives and dies on the strength of its writing, and it really defied my initial expectation given the somewhat silly premise. Not only it is very good on a moment to moment basis, with entertaining banter between the characters, it also has a very compelling overarching story to make you truly question whether or not you should slay the princess. And to elevate it even further, it has a unique and well realised art style, with really good voice acting to boot. Even if you only play it once, only do one playthrough, it is worth the asking price.

Doesn't disappoint

This game has near universal praise. There's a reason for that. The art style, the voice acting, the writing: it all drips with obvious care and quality. It's not going to be for everyone. But if you're on the fence, just go for it. Even if you end up being one of the people that doesn't like it, it's such a novel experience you'll at least be able to enjoy ranting about why you hate it.

Play It, Trust Me.

Given how the Store Page is setup you are expecting some kind of twist and there is but not in the way you are thinking. I don't want to say to much more then that aside from the story is really good, and the voice acting is really good for what is only 2 or 3 Actors having to do so many different things. Do Yourself a Favor: Look Nothing Up, Read Nothing about it, and Play the game.

What a good game :]

Slay the Princess is a really good game, though its not for everyone as it is a horror game. But aside of that it has its laughs and truly heartwarming moments I would recommend you get it if you like Visual novels. The story while linear can be on the first time depending on the person who plays it and which choices they make. So all in all good game was worth it :]
