Description
Project Warlock is a first person shooter that fans of Doom, Hexen and Wolfenstein cannot miss. It serves you an exploding cocktail of bullets, spells and monsters. In Project Warlock you battle through 60 levels of non stop action packed with bloodthirsty enemies and challenging bosses. The game offers not just firepower, but perk-based character development, weapon upgrades and unlockable spells system. This high-quality independent gem is priced to appeal to fans of polished indie titles and seekers of classic fps experience alike.

Back in April 2018 hundreds of gamers had a chance to experience an early build of Project Warlock and gave their enthusiastic feedback. The following six months the Buckshot team, with it’s showrunner Jakub Cislo, spent on polishing the game to bring you the most complete and satisfying experience. The end result is something you can check for yourself.

Oh. And John Romero thinks “it looks cool”.

Pretty good FPS!

I'm not into too many FPS games, even though I have a few. The music is pretty catchy, and the game play is fast. I play it on casual and I've had a pretty good experience with it. Performance isn't the best on my laptop (but to be fair, it's a workstation, not a gaming computer) but it's still very enjoyable. If I had one critique, it'd be to please add 21:9 support. I like that the option for FOV and locking the horizontal axis is there (to make it feel more like DOOM from back in the DOS days) and you can toggle enemy health bars on and off, too. I also appreciate the fact it has controller support (but this kind of game should be played with keyboard and mouse.) Final words: A really good FPS with a retro vibe and some interesting game mechanics. It just needs 21:9 support and hopefully it'll get Linux support in the future. Those 2 technical things are all that hold back a perfect 5 star review from me.

meh..

It looks like a remake of Catacomb Abyss, plays like a remake of Catacomb Abyss with some additions - generally comparing this to DooM pointless, this is more like Rise of the Triad (bad). Ok, that was too harsh, this game is not BAD, it just isn't that good, from level design to gunplay, I find it just so-so. Music is good, art-style is ok (except the extensive pixelation, enough of that already!), level design is nothing special and gameplay is ok, but again nothing special. This is not Ion Maiden (which is THE best retro-shooter yet). Screen filters that make it somewhat look like it runs on older computer is a nice gimmick, but that does not make a game. tl:dr; meh..

Heretic's smoking hot daughter.

Too many good things to say about this game, not enough bad things. I was hooked after 5 minutes, then I played for 10 hours straight. And I do not even like shooters. Great mechanics and incentives to beat the next stage. If I were you, I would buy it. But you do not have to take my word for it.

Reasonably fun, bad lighting

There are a good deal of maps that are pitch black, requiring you to toggle on your Doom 3 style flashlight (that's aoe instead of facing forward) just to navigate, which makes utilizing spells in the game really janky. The gunplay is fun enough, though a lot of the upgrades just amount to "2x damage 2x ammo", and it says 5 stat points is equal to a perk, that doesn't seem to be true.
