Description
Project Warlock is a first person shooter that fans of Doom, Hexen and Wolfenstein cannot miss. It serves you an exploding cocktail of bullets, spells and monsters. In Project Warlock you battle through 60 levels of non stop action packed with bloodthirsty enemies and challenging bosses. The game offers not just firepower, but perk-based character development, weapon upgrades and unlockable spells system. This high-quality independent gem is priced to appeal to fans of polished indie titles and seekers of classic fps experience alike.

Back in April 2018 hundreds of gamers had a chance to experience an early build of Project Warlock and gave their enthusiastic feedback. The following six months the Buckshot team, with it’s showrunner Jakub Cislo, spent on polishing the game to bring you the most complete and satisfying experience. The end result is something you can check for yourself.

Oh. And John Romero thinks “it looks cool”.

Great throwback FPS ...almost

This game has great game play, controls, and action. It doesn't bog down with stupid nonsense and just let's you wipe out some bad guys. I did however delete it after playing for about an hour. I'm not a fan of the whole replaying episodes and limited lives things. One thing I loved about the old Doom games was that like many PC games you could SAVE a game and come back to it. This one you can't. I'm 46 years old and often play for a short time each time. I don't have time to burn through an episode to make it to the boss then all my lives gone. Yes, it's fun but c'mon...the SAVE is a staple of PC games, or at least was for these kinds of games. With that, I don't have the time or desire to keep at this and went back to zDoom for my brief shooter fun. So it's a good buy if you know that going into it.

Good old Fun

A simple but fantastic game. The option menu alone was enough to bring a smile to my face. You there are a bunch of option to emulate old school looks. You can even make the game look like an orginal gameboy game. The game play is satfying. It feels just like a classic doom game with enough modern addtion to make everyone feel at home similar to DooM(2016). I would recommed the game to anyone Young or old Only complaint is the Resolution only goes to 1920x1080

A good game, but with many problems...

The game is pretty cool and all and I enjoy the weapons, the upgrades, the spells and the way you can boost your stats and unlock perks. The gameplay is pretty good. However, there are many problems that I think really ruins the game for me personally for now: -Framerate: For some reason, on my MSI GTX 1080 Ti OC 11G, the game has framerate issues (especially on exterior maps). This might be an isolated problem with my machine; -Weapon scrolling: Scrolling through your available weapons with the mouse wheel will always skip weapons (how does one mess up weapon scrolling?). Using the corresponding numbered keys is a must;. -Movement: You can enable auto-run which makes you move around pretty fast, which is good. However, movement itself is pretty choppy and turning around will sometimes be stuttery. I wish the movement was really smooth like true oldschool shooters. This might be related to my first point about framerate issues; and -Resolution: I have a 1440p monitor and the highest resolution this game allows is 1080p. This made the game extremely dark for me and I had to play around with the settings (Brightness at 0.50 at Threshold at 0). I thought the game was really dark through the entire first episode and everything is well after changing my graphical settings a bit. This game just came out and Buckshot Software will hopefully fix these issues in the future. I cannot give it more than two stars for now but if the game gets better as time goes on I will edit my review with the appropriate score. Even with these issues the game is still playable and I enjoy it a lot.

Can be considered instant classic.

You play as The Lone Warlock, his origins are mysterious by design, and the game focuses a purposeful amount of time on gameplay instead. Taking place across five episodes which consist of five levels with anywhere from two to four stages each. The lexicon that this game uses, it’s just classic and evokes all the right emotions. In total, there are over sixty levels, with each episode taking in a different biome, from dungeons to Antarctica to Egypt to industrial places. Project Warlock has modern twists on vintage look. It does things that the original idTech engine couldn’t have done. For instance, the whole game has light sources from torches on walls to the shots from your weapons light up the dark. Project Warlock is an excellent shooter on its own, but Buckshot Software figured out how match the feeling of playing those classic first-person shooters, but now with a proper lighting engine for an improved atmosphere and gameplay experience.

Marvelous

One of the best games I've ever played. Gameplay is satisfying, perks, weapons are pretty awesome, soundtrack is masterpiece. I've experienced some issues with game going out of fullscreen mode while loading levels but alt+enter fixes it. Great game
