Project Warlock

Without a doubt, Project Warlock is one of the best games I've ever played. The action is fast and silky smooth. The numerous weapons are all distinct and satisfying to use. The enemies, of which there is a great variety, are all quite satisfying to fight, and none inspire any feelings of annoyance to encounter. Each of the game's episodes presents distinct visuals, and could have been spun off into an entire game on their own. The soundtrack is lively yet non-intrusive. The aesthetics of the game are an effective call back to old school gaming while being quite visually appealing in their own right. Even the RPG elements, which I was quite hesitant on are well incorporated, you never really sit at a point where you're able to overwhelm your enemies just by having the bigger numbers; the difficulty ramps up quite appropriately to prevent that. My only complaint is that it sometimes likes to lag a bit when the visual effects get a bit too busy. If you like old school shooters, buy this game.

If your looking for that old style Doom fps carnage, where you jiust mow down constant waves of mobs with better and better weapons the more you progress this title is for you. The level designs are brillaint with plenty of secrets to keep you searchong for extra goodies if you so desire. And the sound track is superb, a proper good throwback to games of old. The only downside I have with the games is the performance issue's. There can be levels where you will get constant frame drops sometimes into the 30's, and for no reason other than this title needing some optimisation. Apart from this issue I had a blast with this title.

This game is really fun. The look and feel of the game is very creative. I was nicely surprised at how different each of the worlds look. There are unique graphics for each new world and the enemies in it and they feel distinct. The gameplay is fast and loose. Nothing too deep, but I think that gives the player more freedom to play around with the massive arsenal. The weapons are fun, with meaty sounds and animations, but will probably feel familiar to most veteran PC gamers. The warlock aspect I think is really cool, though underused. The spells never felt interesting or essential and I spent most of the time using guns. The music gets you pumping and I didn't ever find it too repetitive. I think one thing that could have improved this would have been a stronger story to tie the levels together. I don't necessarily need a good reason to gun down hordes of terrors from beyond, but it feels good to have a purpose. The designer obviously has alot of love for the old school games, but perhaps could have cut some features and made the game a little more focused. It's fun though! Give Buckshot Software some of your money!

Love the game, it's fast paced and doesn't mess around with its core appeal too much. It wants you to kill the bad guys and gives you several tools to do so. The boss fights are fun and more progressivly challenging which is nice. Although I wish the sound track was more more intense and base heavy. I've found that suprisingly Phonk works well with the flow of the game though I guess thats a plus of Phonk and not the game. The lives while a throwback to the more Wolfenstien era of fps, is still a drag. It was then, and it still is today. I wish weapon upgrades were a little more endepth but I still love that they're there. Overall, great game but with a few drawbacks. It still rises above its lineage though to deliver a more clean and less annoying style of gameplay.

I was very much enjoying my time with this game but I haven't touched it in ages because it makes me terribly motion sick. IDK why but this game specifically makes me feel like puking. Otherwise solid.
