o·mer·ta (-mûrt, mr-tä) - A rule or code that prohibits speaking or divulging information about the activities of a criminal organization.
Bug-eyed Bettys are making a racket with “lips that touch wine, won’t kiss mine” and not minding their own beeswax. The fuzz are busy closing down the local juice joints and pouring perfectly good spirits down the drain. All this fuss about liquor sure can drive a man to drink. It isn’t easy to wet one’s whistle but there some bootleggers who are always happy to provide as long as you got the scratch.

Man, if you want play a strategy gangster game I suggest you play games like Gangsters 1 & 2 and Gangland. Omerta is a worst game about Cosa Nostra I ever played.
I really like the game since it's a relaxing area control game with turn-based fights. With a varity of characters and a flashback to the mafiosi era in the 1920's.
Of course it's not a five stars AAA game and there are some bugs, but it gives you great time, good atmosphere and some nice story moments.
Sometimes the difficulty is a bit overbalanced, but this gives you time to reflect your decisions.
..and by play the demo I do not mean 'play before you buy'. I mean just stick to the demo.
Sorry about the upbeat introduction but this truly is the best advice I can give. The demo showed the game from it's best possible side: The very nice and mood defining graphics, the good voice work, a story you could easily get involved in and some decent game play.
The full game quickly turns into a frustrating, repetitive cluster fuck that will drain you more than anything.
Also, like already mentioned, if you must buy, do not buy it full price. There are far better games on this site, with the same theme, that goes for between 5.99 and 9.99 usd.
PS. Is it only me or would this make an interesting board game?
This game plays like a free to play mobile or facebook game. On the city map you don't really do anything. It's very nice looking but the graphics are just for show. You click a building with an icon over it. It has an action you can perform. You choose a gangster to perform the action and wait a few minutes. Then it is done. That's it. There's nothing else to the city map. While waiting for my gangsters to do something I almost expected a pop up offering to let my gangster drive a bit faster if I bought $5.00 in "Gangsta Coins". That didn't happen but it felt like it might.
There is turn based tactical combat. It's not terrible but again there isn't much to it. The enemies run up to you. You shoot them as they move up. When they get close you punch them. Your gangsters can die but and get upgrades but it didn't seem to matter. One guy was as good as another.
I did love the graphics, sounds, and music. The game looks great. It's just sort of boring. If you're into casual/mobile games then I'd say it's probably a 5 star game. You can play a great little casual game without all the annoyances of free to play and micro transactions. But if you're looking for Silent Storm or XCOM with gangsters this isn't it.
Take the "negative reviews" kinda serious but there is this thing:
This game has charme and i totally enjoyed my time with it. If you figure out the overall pattern, it becames a bit lamer, but not really bad. There is no deeper strategy and all, right - but its also kinda a strong point.
Basically: If you want to play some isometric classic gangster game - but dont want to spent much time into learning mechanics, figuring out tricks and strategies and all - its actually pretty neat.
The visuals are also kinda charming, older computers can run it.
This game will never be "a good old game" or be MORE than average, but its a bit unfair to call it garbage.
The price-tag is a bit too high though. Get it on sale.
2.5 out of 5, tending to 3/5.
