o·mer·ta (-mûrt, mr-tä) - A rule or code that prohibits speaking or divulging information about the activities of a criminal organization.
Bug-eyed Bettys are making a racket with “lips that touch wine, won’t kiss mine” and not minding their own beeswax. The fuzz are busy closing down the local juice joints and pouring perfectly good spirits down the drain. All this fuss about liquor sure can drive a man to drink. It isn’t easy to wet one’s whistle but there some bootleggers who are always happy to provide as long as you got the scratch.
Omerta: City of Gangsters puts you into the boots of a fresh-from-the-boat immigrant with dreams of the big life. Work your way up the criminal hierarchy of 1920’s Atlantic City, starting with small jobs, recruiting new gang members and expanding your empire by taking territory from other mobsters. Establish your own crime syndicate and become the de facto ruler of Atlantic City!
Conquer a historically accurate Atlantic City with 20 unique districts featuring real-world landmarks in a story-driven campaign or sandbox freeplay game.
Strategic real-time gameplay for planning coups, expanding your territory, extorting the competition, and bribing the authorities.
Lead your henchmen into elaborately planned turn-based tactical combat as you pull off bank heists, robberies, street battles, and more.

Look, I got it free! it was a brilliant game which i loved while it was working but once it hit the mission risky delivery, it kind of hit a rock and wouldn't go any further, I want to play more and conquer this game but until it's sorted I'm glad i didn't pay for it
When I first heard about this game I was really excited - I love the period and sadly there aren't many games set in it. From trailers the game looked very interesting and I was certain I will buy it immediately, but... First came the price, which was way too high, but ok - I could pay if the game was really worth it, but then I've read first reviews on GoG, which were almost entirely negative, and I gave up on it. Recently, however, the game has been discounted to $5 and I thought "If not now, then never". I'm several hours into the game and.. I really like it. The combat system is very smooth and intense, it has a good story and the economic part works quite well, though it could be a bit more complex. It's not a masterpiece, but it's fun and in my opinion it's definitiely worth the few bucks.
I've played both this game and Tropico 4 gold [Xbox 360] and both had great potential. The problem?
Kalypso is full of inexperienced programers (that's the nicest way to put it without me losing my temper),
which means their games have game breaking bugs, and when Kalypso support is contacted about this issue they brush both you and the issue off!
My advice? Stay away from not only this game, but all Kalypso games as well! They will screw you over!
BEWARE
DON'T BUY THIS GAME.
The game ends after just 1 mission (tutorial). The credits just starts rolling... It's apparently a known bug that came out with the patch 1.07, and is only fixed if you buy the Japanese DLC. If you're like me, and just have the Vanilla version of the game (with the 4 dlc missions), then you won't be able to play the game after the tutorial mission.
Be sure to check out the GOG forums on this game, and search the internet before spending money on this title, unless you also plan to buy the Japanese DLC (which again I can't vouch for it fixing it but that's what the word is).
