Magic Carpet Plus™

Positives: Great environment engaging gameplay with depth to the strategy. This is not just an early 3d shoot 'em up. Con: The controls are so difficult to master. I played for an hour before giving up. It is so awkward to control your character.

There's a reason this was a top game back in the day, and - as long as you can live with short view distance and chunky graphics - you should find it still a heap of fun to play all these years later. It starts fairly easy, so you have time to get used to the controls, but the further you go, the more it will test your skill and judgement. As much action as you want, but be careful in deciding when to provoke your targets... Tip: press 'R' for high res mode, then ctrl-F12 to increase DOSBOX cycles until it runs smoothly. (You can edit the dosbox conf file in the game dir, if you're confident with that.)

I remember playing Magic Carpet back in my school/university days and loved the freedom of exploring a 3D world, gathering mana, blasting dragons... this is a rare game in which the sequel is a lot better in many ways, but it all started here. It's been wonderful to find a way to play it again.

Finally. I was worried that i had to buy a new computer, because its starting to lag on the newest games. But thanks to gog.com i dont have to do that. After a 12-13 years off waiting, this awsome game can be played again. just awsome, it might take some time getting used to for folks who hasnt played it. But like many good old games, once in to it, you cant stopp playing.

Love the game, and still remains unique and fun even today. A mix between a FPS and RPG wouldn't be doing the game any justice. The only issues I had with the game is the controls, mostly as they are a little awkward and can't be change as of my knowledge.
