It grows on you
It's a solid game. I didn't think much of it at the begining but then the next day I found myself playing the whole afternoon till late at night without realising the passage of time. Yes, the character movement is heavier and slower than in most games, but it's not a bad thing, it's just diferent and once you get used to it it's pretty fun to figure out diferent attack combos of diferent weapons. Finding secrets is also very engaging and they're usually not easy to spot. Definitely worth buying especially when on sale.

Good game for me
A little hard, but if you try constantly, you can progress in the game. Good graphics.

Love the game
first LotF got a lot of hate, because it wascompared to Dark Souls series a lot. In my opinion, this game got older a lot better than From Software games, and offer a great entry to soulslike games.

Not bad, not bad
There is a learning curb, at least for me. I noticed many players fall off around about the time we meet Yetka and I definitely felt more put off playing at that point but once I passed that area and built up my stats a bit and got the hang of fighting with most monsters it got a bit easier and became fun to play. This was a fair bit after exiting the initiation chamber. Maybe just before or after the second lord? Story is interesting, nothing shocking but not stale like many stories written these days. If the newer Lords of the fallen comes to GOG I might consider buying that as well. It's not as hard or as frustrating as the first Dark souls game is (I haven't played the others) so it's easier to get into but still has some challenging elements similar-ish to dark souls. Rolling a tonne, losing experience and having to retrieve it before dying again, occassionally frustrating enemies that can corner you and make you want to quit but never anywhere near the amount Dark souls did for me. I found it more intuitive and user friendly than dark souls, although I had to read some guides, I could have easily read more but chose not to just to see if I could work it out myself first and surprisingly this was possible more often than I thought it would be. I'm so glad the dialogue wasn't completely quick action choice, I hate quick action stuff like the last of us has. Some of it I accidently pressed or almost pressed something I didn't want to choose but it didn't seem to permanently alter the story much so I was ultimately relieved. The game helps you more than Dark souls, thank goodness. I like Harkyns character. It is odd that the newer game is called Lords of the fallen and so is this one (the 2014 release), so it made finding guides sometimes confusing. Some didn't look like this game and I did some research and discovered it indeed wasn't the same game... Weird naming schemes. Anywho, read a guide if you find it challenging.
