Ion Fury

Simply a fun game to play from start to finish that is honest about what it is and does it well. It's a retro FPS. The lost Build engine game similar to the likes of Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood, and Redneck Rampage. If you need a break from all the new game designs, and trust me we could all use a break, then pick this game up and refresh your memory. Remember why we like games to begin with. For the pure, simple fun of it. I highly recommend this game to anyone who calls themselves a gamer.

I liked the game - it's solid shooter with plenty of character. The level design is good, weapons have their variety, enemies are fine and there are no situations where you can't complete the level or objective. The story and dialog are cheesy just like in most 90s titles - it serves the purpose of giving you the excuse to go on a rampage and that is more than enough. I'm running Ion Fury on Wayland and I could point out that brightness adjustment doesn't seem to work - with some of the level design choices, it can get a bit too dark (a flashlight would've been welcome addition). Other than that very specific issue under Wayland Linux - no complaints on how the game performs. Looking forward to the upcoming Aftershock expansion!

This game is a true gem. Duke's DNA is in every line of code. To be honest, Ion Fury is even much better in terms of playability, complexity and convenience. The guys (and gals?) at Voidpoint truly unterstand what made the late 90's shooters that memorable and special - something almost every modern shooter lacks. To make it short: This i(c)onic Maiden is the true successor of Duke Nukem 3D and a must-buy for every shooter veteran out there - and everyone who seeks for something "new". Tons of secrets, Duke'esque gags and action-packed gameplay await you. Auto-heal? You talk shit, you die!

V.Good. Movement is ace Guns are fun Maps are interactive and varied DLC when? Roses are red Violets are blue Watch out Shelly, Hectors coming for you.

Parody is protected under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. I wish they would have kept the original name. A perfect translation of fremetic and visceral shooters from the 1990s. Wolfenstein and Doom are properly honored by this game.
