BUILD YOUR FORTRESS
Design, build and expand your settlement from a small wooden hut into a colossal stone castle. With simple-to-use 3D terrain tools you can create the perfect stronghold, from winding underground caverns to sprawling multi-story forts.
DEFEND YOUR COLONY
This harsh new world is rife with external threats, but you can give your colonists the upper hand in battle by building impenetrable defences and traps. Research, craft and equip weapons and gear so that they can fight back against unrelenting waves of attackers.

Your colonists have more than just raids to contend with. They need protection from starvation and the elements, so it’s essential to stock up on supplies and build shelter to keep them fed and warm. I appreciate the building in particular with one caveat.
The good - having everything present in full 3D makes for some awesome medieval fortifications, between crenellations, machicolations, and (in a sense) the aptly named arrowslit.
Very cool stuff, and makes me anxious to move to the end game.
The big caveat for me personally is that structure tiles are still operating as if everything weren't still 2D. A single tile comprises 1 full story height. This works well enough for purely 2D colony sims from which this is obviously derived, and I don't fault Going Medieval for extrapolating that underlying design out into 3D space. I love it! I just wish half-height tiles existed, allowing colonists/etc to navigate up/down terrain without explicit slope blocks.
That's not going to happen. Maybe in a Going Medieval 2.
I love city players but I'm not really a hardcore player. Usually it gets very overwhelming very quickly for me. I don't feel that in this game. The game always provides relevant info for me in context, so I don't have to remember them.
