    Description
Gods Will Be Watching is a minimalistic “point and click thriller” centered on despair, commitment, and sacrifice as players face narrative puzzles and moral dilemmas that will affect both the lives of your team and the people you’re are sworn to protect.

Set against the backdrop of an interstellar struggle, Gods Will Be Watching follows Sgt. Burden and his crew in six tense chapters from hostage situations and wilderness survival to biological weapon prevention and agonizing torture scenarios. Each decision is crucial and players will need to choose between the lives of their team and the saving the world from genocide. There's no good or evil, just decisions, with only you and the gods as a judge to your actions.
    • Set morals aside as you navigate Sgt. Burden and his team through harrowing predicaments and make decisions that will either save your team or sacrifice their lives for the sake of the mission.
    • Solve a wide variety of narrative puzzles and moral dilemmas using your own wits and burden the consequences of your choices. Do you intimidate or comfort your hostages to maintain your tenuous control of the situation? Should you kill the weakest member of your party to save on food for the strong? What is one life worth in the face of annihilation?
    • An innovative departure from the traditional point and click adventure taking place in six intimate, tension-filled scenarios linked together through an epic narrative of interstellar espionage.

    I regret this purchase!

Been gaming since '86 so challenging and retro looking games are kinda my thing. I pre-ordered this game since I believed it to be a dark and mature point-and-click adventure game, where you have to make choices that matter in a flowing storyline (like the Walking Dead game). Instead I got perhaps the most tedious resource-management simulator combined with a slotmachine. Games are supposed to challenge you, but more importantly, they are supposed to be FUN! And this thing is anything but... It's just a pretintious art project disguised as a game. The only reason I give this thing 2/5 is because of the music and neat looking retro graphics... I should have bought the "Last Door" instead!

    Flawed game

Don't get me wrong it looks lovely, the pixel art is great and everything is just nicely put together but that's where it ends. From the very start it's pretty much a clickable wall of text and you are thrust into a game where you have to manage everything. It feels so frustrating, constantly juggling between talking, kicking hacking and more. One wrong move and it's game over, but having to do it again and again and again will drive you crazy!! There's no hints as to what to do next, for example the first bit you have to calm then down or scare there but there's no animation and it's mostly luck. For example I had all of them calmed and suddenly one by one as I was telling the guards to back off they all started running away. Within about 30mins I was bored, frustrated and didn't want to play anymore. A game should not be like this in the first mission. PROS - Looks great, great sounds and music CONS - Too hard, Frustrating, repetitive 2.5/10

    The trailers fool you

The game is waaayyyy over challenging. For the wrong reasons. You need to loop until you know how to finish a scene. Then there is a story moment but you forget the story because then you have to grind a new solution for next task. I played this one hour and the frustrated. I don't think this is a good game. Graphics and sound are good though

We're the mote in God's eye

I thought this was a regular adventure game. I was wrong and I should have done my research beforehand. No, this is a balancing simulator where you have to keep a handful of variables in mind at all times. Each turn will lower some and raise others, your task is to find equilibrium. Long story short; the gameplay is frustrating, the potential for having to redo long stretches several times is overwhelming and the difficulty is absolutely brutal. Almost immediately found myself quitting the game with the intent of never coming back. But I haven't un-installed it. And I keep plugging away at it. Why is that? I assure you, it's not because of the gameplay. I'm also not a retro-junkie so while I find the graphics appealing they're certainly not enough to keep me coming back. The story is fairly interesting, and the morbidly dark context is laudable.. but I don't play games that frustrate me (at least not any more). So what is it about this one? Honestly can't tell you, but I can tell you that you'll either love or hate this game. Sort of doubt there's any in-between. But there's a good chance you'll keep playing it no matter what. That's why I'm giving it an in-between rating.

    Good Game but falsely advertised

The game is good, but is falsely advertised. It is not as story focused, but more of a resource manager. A really hard one. Not really what I expected, but okay. The graphics are ok, I really like pixel art, but this one did not look that good to me. But I think that the game is a bit too random (on original difficulty), and the player can not make save states or change the difficulty after starting a new game. I do recommend this game for people that like that like resource managers and are able to resist frustration.
