The devs cut dialogue and features in the game that they found "disgusting or offensive to women." The game also features a trigger warning every time you boot it up. I don't think I need to say more on why this game is inferior to the original. Don't give these woketards a single cent and just emulate the ps2 game, you'll have a better time trust me.
The game is incredible. It is such an improvement over the original because of new game angine, and the developers included new mechanics in the game as well. This is worth 30 dollars for sure, plus it's DRM free. It's a win win if you ask me. I really hope that Black Forest Games remakes the 2nd one as well.
Never having played the original game, I didn't know what to expect when I downloaded Destroy All Humans! What I found was a gorgeous game steeped in action-packed, hillariously-offensive fun. With superb voice acting, amazing visuals, and incredible special effects, it's hard to believe that you're getting this much bang for your buck. Stylishly representing late 1950s and early 1960s America, your role to manipulate, subjugate, and ultimately, yes, destroy all humans, leads you to explote their sexist, materialistic, power-hungry ways. With delicious humor, it reminds you what makes (made?) video games so incredibly compelling - unbridled escapism without concern for satisfying censors or reviewers.
As you play Crypto-137 and are mentored by his Invader Zim-like counterpart, Orthopox, you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat as you work to complete both mandatory and optional challenges in each scenario, and then revisiting each of the dozen or so missions and their respective locales to improve your telekinetic abilities, your saucer-flight-and-bombardment tactics, and your mind-control and human-destruction pursuits. This game is, bottom line, FUN! It's also incredibly unique. Much like Majesty was for the fantasy city-builder genre, Destroy All Humans! is a game that combines the murder and mayhem from Grand Theft Auto, the sense of progressive ectasy and character-building from Starcraft II's single-player campaigns, and the in-your-face crude-but-adorable non-PC humor of the Leisure Suit Larry series. If you're looking to take out your frustrations in this pandemic pandaemonium we're living in and are exasperated with the stupidity of your fellow Earthlings, strap into your saucer, charge up your zapper, and get ready to Destroy All Humans!
Nowadays, quality games are very rare, even though this is a 2005 remake, to me it was a new experience since I have not played the original, I absolutely love this, favorite aspects of this game for me are responsive controls, insanely good graphics as I usually play 6th gen games, and comedy approach, the game was funny multiple times.
Small nitpicks - the original audio was used, which is lower quality than the rest of the sounds, for a musician it was very noticeable and kinda distracting.
Some side missions were a bit boring, as I prefer more linear experience as opposed to an open world.
Static loading screen. As I have an HDD as opposed to SSD, the loadings were kinda long, and looking at the same closeup of the alien was kinda strange sometimes.
The optimization is amazing! I played on FX 8320 3.5GHz, GTX 1060 6GB, 8GB DDR3 RAM, in 1080p ULTRA settings in 60fps!! So yeah with my setup I played it on Ultra, even tho my CPU is kinda old but I guess CPUs have not improved much in years haha.
Thank you THQ for releasing this on GOG! I hope Frictional Games will release Amnesia Rebirth on GOG too. I wish the DNA and Crypto 137 editions came with a GOG code too, or the user could choose, as I do not like Steam. Big up to everyone involved with this
