Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Completionists should avoid this as there are now multiple Twitch drop and Amazon prime equipment pieces and weapons one cannot obtain anymore. It is now sadly just waste of time and money.
It is also rather ethically questionable to implement such timed content so far into the life span of the game that it is unlikely to be able to refund it after learning of such practices.
The gameplay for me is not very interesting or exciting and the story, while somewhat interesting is a little short for a game like this.
I have a RTX3080 and performance is fine if you don't turn on all the BS bells n whistles, I feel like this game is ultimately just a tech demo for RT in the way Ashes of the Singularity was used to bench games for a time.
Haven't even mentioned the DLC which is the price of a standard game in my location so I don't own it nor will purchase in the future, I bought the base game discounted physically from a real store.
Pretty disapointing ultimately and not very excited for Witcher 4 or Cyberpunk 2.
I don't usually play such games, but I was so hyped up that I gave it a go. I was overwhelmed at first, sure, but each minute spent in the Night City got me more and more immersed. Stories? Emotional. Side quests? FUN. Shooting? Yes.
Cyberpunk is so disappointing. I regret buying it. So far two hours in. It hasn't grabbed me. Story is cliche. My buddy is a Mexican cliche. It doesn't feel like a game done by the Witcher 3. It's a poor man's Mass Effect Andromeda. And that was bad. The only good thing my character's big penis. And so far it's not used. So underwhelming.
At rare moments when textures and graphics are loading correct AND at a framerate above 30 the game looks fantastic, but the mechanics and gameplay are mediocre at best.
I don't got the feeling, that i even want to level up to get another percent at more crit-damage or a daemon for useless hacking. Watchdpgs 1 had a way better hacking feature than this Cyberpunk Game where EVERYTHING is connected but can do nothing with it except the cameras and turrets in mission areas, enemy devices and doors.
You can look at a NPC, get a Name and maybe a criminal history and thats it. It is said, you got a really expensive eye-implant and thats all you got. No potential thread, no repots of thoughts or history, no job description, just nothing.
Than this rpg-like stats with intelligence, reflex, technical ability, cool (aka stealth) and body. There is no real use for this attributes except the underlying increase of damage or one line of text in every 100th main conversation (. Okay, you can open a door more with the technical ability but there is nothing interesting behind it).
And than this 1 out of 3 Gamestarts/Characterbackgrounds:
Why implementing it, if it has no practical use?
You play in this role for an hour, skip half a year in a rendered sequence and it does not matter anymore.
You get here and there a additional dialog option but it just lets your character explain things, the npc had told you anyway, if it is necessary for the mission.
The whole game just feels like a small indie game studio made there FIRST rpg and bought very expensive textures to make it look good at least.
It could just has been a total conversion mod for GTA V or even Skyrim and it would be way better than what it actually is.
Really disapointing and i where not even hyped anymore since june...
