Not what was advertised

Cyberpunk lacks much of what the game promised in its initial promotions and does not live up to the hype it generated. Upon release, Cyberpunk is plagued with immersion breaking bugs constantly taking you out of the game. Cyberpunk is not an RPG either, more like a linear story game, with a hub world between missions. I could write a five-thousand-word essay on the things Cyberpunk promised but failed to deliver. Much of Night City is an illusion, although, looks fantastic graphically, and carries some great side stories has very little interaction. Much of the world seems blocked off with only a gun and clothe stores to enter willingly. Cyberpunk showed great promise but I am left confused and disappointed, I am also left with many questions like... Is Cyberpunk about the player or Keanu Reeves? Where's all the interaction in the world? Whats with all the dildos? Why are my romance options forced? Brain Dance is a genius idea, but why is it so underused? Where's the RPG expirence that was demoed? Whats with all the pointless vehicle purchases? ( I will never use most of these vehicles) Where's all the customization? There are many question I could ask, but perhaps the number one question I could ask is, where is the game that was advertised? Because this isn't it, not even close. Pro- Great Graphics. Fun combat. You can increase penis size. Con- Lacks Immersion. Night City is a dead world. A.I is terrible. I love Keanu, but he's out of place here. Not what was promised. Full of bugs.

Biggest disappointment ever

The game is the biggest gaming disappointment i have ever had in my gaming life. And i am not talking about the bugs. I didnt even had much bugs on my high end pc. The bugs can be fixed but the problem is with the game it self. I didnt even had unrealistic expectations. I just wanted a deep RPG with lots of choices and consequences and witcher writing. Actually just what the game was marketed as. But what I got was a mediocre linear GTA and loot shooter clone. First and foremost the game is NOT an RPG. Even CDPR calls it no longer an RPG. Its a linear action adventure with almost no choices and even less of them actually matter. The only part with choices and consequences is what they showed in the 2018 Demo. And the endings are just a drop down menu where you can choose which one you want and then have a short unique part. The rest of the game is completely linear. The life paths are a complete joke. It is also quite noticeable that the story is unfinished in many parts. The writing of the main story is not bad but does not reach witcher level. The side quest are even worse. 90% of them are on Ubisoft level where random person X calls you to kill random person Y. They are nothing compared to the witcher. There are some good side quests where some of them even have choices but they are way to rare. The open word is the worst i have ever seen in a game. It feels even more lifeless than the generic Ubisoft open worlds. From a gameplay perspective the game also fails. The loot system is just terrible. It was bad in witcher but in CP2077 it is way worse. While the guns look and sound good the shooting is not fun. The controls are clunky. Most of the enemies are also bullet sponges. There are some good ideas on different playstyles but none of the feels eel thought through to the end. And the game is also completely unbalanced. At the end one good thing. The level design and the overall graphics on ultra with RTX are awesome.

It's ok, but it should have been awesome

Overall, I didn't suffer some of the bugs others did. However I did have visual/audio glitches which I chose to ignore, but did break immersion. Overall I still spent over 100 hours in the game. I was hoping more for a game like Skyrim where I've spent close to 1000 hours. And who knows, if they fix and update the game to what they originally said, it may end up being that great. Maybe even the modders will rescue it? Although I didn't use that many mods on skyrim. Not until much later. Still was a fun game, I enjoyed the gun play. Although after a while, it starts feeling very repetitive. Near the end I did just skip the rest of the side quests and completed the game. Will probably go back after updates. Overall I'm disappointed, but that was more my expectations weren't lived up to and the bugs. Why the 3 out of 5? Well, it's still better than a lot of games. Even with the audio/visual glitches. The story was pretty good. Although didn't much care for ending.

New Audio Bug with Update 1.5

Upon updating the game to 1.5, the audio crackles and stutters whenever I'm driving around Night City, whenever I enter a new area of the map, whenever I'm listening to the radio, whenever I'm walking around Night City. The audio mostly crackles and stutters non-stop, regardless of how I mess with the graphics, display, and audio settings. Real unfortunate.

2.0 Ruined the game

Update 2.0 completely ruined a game that I loved. I had 293 hours of play time since launch till April 2023. I gave the update ~31 hours worth of play. Started a new game so I can experience it all once again and go play the DLC, and honestly I hated about 90% of my time trying to play with this update. There's only a small amount of things 2.0 included that I would say are good, but the whole update ruined the game and I found myself being more angry, frustrated, and disappointed than I ever did at launch. I defended the game through all the criticism after launch because after a few patches the game was amazing and fun to play and I've had the game installed since launch and gone back to it every now and then to see what new nice little patches were released and the game gradually got better and better. I uninstalled the game last night after my 31 hours of play because I just couldn't take how bad the game has become now. The main issues are the "update" to the perk and skill system which changed the core of gameplay, the massive decrease in loot and clutter to the point that the game feels more empty and exploring isn't worth your time, the crafting system is 1000% worse and almost entirely pointless and worthless now, changing grenades and healing to a rechargeable cooldown is the strangest choice and is completely awful and limits how you can play, the changes to cyberware are a mixed bag but overall I miss the old version and honestly feel like the limitations that were added in with this new "cyberware capacity" idea are a giant step back (this and the perks: why go from being completely free to play however you like to this caged system of being forced to unlock that freedom), enemies being able to "trace" you from several rooms or stories away when all security has been shut down and they aren't netrunners in a dive chair, and the scaling of enemies and descaling of V is just awful. Maybe you might enjoy the game if you're new, but 2.0 ruined everything
