Ahh I remember watching the original trailer, I've probably watched it 15 times since then. What's not to love "It's CDPR", I thought. The Witcher Enhanced Edition was the first PC game I ever bought, and I still love it. And I would rather play that game, or KOTOR or Two Worlds. My disappointment is immeasurable, and the last 7 years of waiting has been ruined.
It's like dating a beautiful person, but not enjoying their company.
This game promoted itself as an RPG game but there is no RPG. You can't make any choices in this game as it is all an illusion. The dialogue tree is just "explain further" or "proceed with story". The NPC is dead and don't interact with you at all. The frame rate is all over the place, and I have a strong PC. They don't even know their own characters when making the romance. Kerry who is a bisexual with a leaning for women in the tabletop got bi-erasure and turned into a gay guy. I got some weird glitches where my V T-pose while walking. One good thing about this game is that this game has the best cop out of any game I play. They know teleportation and see that you committed a crime right away. They teleport to your location and shoots to kill. You could not do any roleplay at all. It may as well be an action game and just remove all the choices. The game would go smoother as it's too slow to be an action game and no choices for it to qualify as an RPG. All the good will I could think of with CD Projekt is gone. I had so much faith that I preorder the game even without any incentive, but I will not do it anymore. This game doesn't show that it cares about the players. The game is very empty and without love.
After spending many many hours in the game i finally gave up, gave up pretending that this is the game i've been waiting for so long. Gave up pretending that this world is alive, that i am actually mean something in it. All i found is a totally empty soulless and boring city, every person i meet mearly a doll with no behaviour and character. Every aspect of RPG is false, no real consequences to any action, dumb skill tree with no actual benefits. Stupid crafting of anything from scraps, awful driving and shooting. No feeling for weapons, you can empty a clip into a guys head and cause no damage but kill him with few hits of a knife. Able to shoot through obstacles is just adding to the fake world feeling. With The Withcer, TES and even Fallout i was thinking in my head of all the great adventures while closing my eyes in bed. With Cyberpunk 2077 i feel nothing, i feel like i am done with the game as soon as i quit playing. This game is a shame to the creators of Withcher, mearly a clone of GTA. I don't think there is someghing more to be done to imorove this game, it has no soul, it's died before it was born. Too bad. Cheers !
When I saw the trailers for this I got excited and said to myself "Yeah that's a good purchase for the year." I regret that decision. This game does not look and play as it should despite all the time that was put into it. It tires to be everything to everything to everyone and ends up being neither.
Lifepaths have minimal input on the story and every V can played identical no matter how you started. The world feels hollow and lifeless despite the envinroment and setting.
Food and drink give identical buffs making the variety of them pointles to collect.
By only allowing prerendered and curated footage to be used in the media CDPR has shown that it cannot be trusted to me.
This game was not ready for release and it shows, the higher ups can apologize on camera and say "We made a mistake" but the damage to their image is already done. I feel lied to. I had hoped for better from a developer with such goodwill behind it, but I can see I my faith was misplaced. I don't have any faith in the proposed multiplayer edition that was announced.
Give it another year of patching at least and them maybe purchase.
Giving false impressions in trailers before launch is shady. Censoring footage and denying console access before launch is even more suspect. Using Youtubers to build up hype for a half finished game is normal now apparently. CDPR said "they leave greed to others" right? Wrong. Same BS, different company.
Game crashed multiple times first week playing. Texture pop in is the worst I have ever seen. Driving in cars is a nightmare. Use bikes instead. NPC AI is bad. Story is alright but side activities are not. Teleporting police feels more like a meme making fun of UK/USA police. NPC shoots, no reaction from police. I shoot once, immediate death penalty. No vendor or shop is open for business, only vending machines work in the future.
Refunds for physical PC purchases are denied. After a month of waiting CDPR supports reply was an offer for store credit on GOG not money back like management promised. So only console refunds deserve money.
