The year is 3025 and the galaxy is trapped in a cycle of perpetual war, fought by noble houses with enormous, mechanized combat vehicles called BattleMechs. Take command of your own mercenary outfit of 'Mechs and the MechWarriors that pilot them, struggling to stay afloat as you find yourself drawn into a brutal interstellar civil war. 30 hours int the game & had great time until the difficulty skull suddenly meant nothing. I was having fun with doable moderate difficulty with 3 skulls then it turned almost impossible with 1 1/2. All of a sudden it;s a 8 on 4. The enemy will sensor lock & fire missiles at you when not even in range & the their armor is increased to point where enemy light lances have armor equal to a medium or light heavy. The enemy will get multiple turns, sometime the whole enemy team will have consecutive attacks where you might get 2 team members to have consecutive to attacks. Gonna go back & grind 1 skull until i have enough money & tech before progressing with the story. hope that helps. If that doesn't I'm gonna ask for a refund.
The game felt like a half fleshed out skeletal model. Iconic items such as the gauss rifle, and ECM were left out, only to be released in expansion packs. When I pay for a game I would like the full experience to be there.
Otherwise the game runs well and stays true to the feel of playing the tabletop version. I do recommend it if you are familiar with the Battletech universe.
I am a fan of this game from the times of Mechcommander, and this version remake that feeling.
I really liked the campaign, the mechs, the mechbay, the animation. I had fun also with the expansions.
But some things can be made better: the game Is sometimes slow in charging, the missions are repetitives in some way, and, above all, I miss tons drop limits. Nothing prevents you of dropping yours "big guys" together, making not so useful mechs less than assaults one.
If you'll correct that, I can give you more stars. :)
Battletech was a game where numbers and tactics were everything. I dont expect the devs to have experience with tactics used in the battletech rpg, but dumbing down the classics to this level is just sad. These people should stick to visual novels. Add a text option to attack-move into the enemy lines and tell the player that they won a glorious victory.
Poszukiwałem symulatora kompanii najemników pokroju "Battle Brothers" i znalazłem grę wybitną jaką jest "Battletech".
Battletech jest próbą przeniesienia na komputery (a raczej wskrzeszenia po latach niebytu) figurkowej gry bitewnej o tej samej nazwie. Próbą na tyle udaną, iż dzięki sukcesowi Battletecha doczekaliśmy się po siedemnastu latach kolejnej części Mechwarriora.
Rozgrywka składa się z dwóch elementów:
Pierwszy polega na toczeniu taktycznych starć w systemie turowym dowodząc drużyną pilotów kroczących maszyn bojowych zwanych Mechami.
Pomiędzy misjami zarzadzamy grupą najemników. Zarobione na misjach pieniądze wydajemy na naprawy uszkodzonych mechów, kupno nowych, rekrutacje pilotów, kupno broni i wyposażenia do mechów, oraz podróże które też kosztują pieniądze. Nasze mechy możemy też modyfikować wyposażając je w inne rodzaje uzbrojenia.
Aspekt walk mechów oceniam na 7,5/10.
Aspekt zarządzania drużyną najemników 9/10.
Kampania fabularna 7/10, tryb kariery 9/10 to tutaj gra rozwija skrzydła.
Świat przedstawiony w Battletech jest nakreślony z większą głębią niż ten w Mechwarriorze 5 czy BattleBrothers. Nie ogranicza się to tylko do tego, iż na poszczególnych planetach panuje inny klimat co wpływa na walkę, ale też każda planeta ma swoją historię opisaną w kilku zdaniach i słowa kluczowe które ją definiują. Na kolonii górniczej z populacją kilkunastu tysięcy znajdziemy w sklepach innych sprzęt, niż na planecie z populacją kilkudziesięciu milionów która dodatkowo była polem bitwy w erze gwiezdnej ligi.
Battletech to wybitna gra - Polecam.
Odniosę się jeszcze do najczęściej powtarzającego się zarzutu z angielskojęzycznych recenzji.
"Ekrany wczytywania między misjami wczytują się zbyt długo". Na moim sprzęcie wczytują się średnio 25-35 sekund. Rozumiem, iż dla kogoś kto gra metodą strzał (trafienie)-> save -> strzał (pudło) -> load. 30 sekund wczytywania może być problemem. Ale ja wyrobiłem sobie nawyk zapisywania raz na turę i rzadko wczytuje save.
