A pleasant disappointment:)
I have bought it, tried out for a few mins... and decided to leave it for later thinking it is just average space based game. Once I got back to it and decided to spend more time exploring game interface and mechanics I have discovered really interesting game. You can do whatever You like to earn money here whenever it is mining, salvaging junk, refining ores, fabricating "stuff" for personal use or for sale, doing missions, hunt pirates, became assassin or a pirate- it really is up to Your liking. The way it is implemented is too really nice- there is no need to have inhuman reflexes or 3d orientation to handle ship. Your pilot has various skills which affect different areas of the game- some will let ship fly faster, haul more cargo at once, be more resistant to damage, or became more efficient at mining or fabricating items... or be better at hiring mercenary help. Graphics is also nice and at the same time it is not overflowing with various effects which might make things like combat harder to read. Version 0.0093 does not have faction plot implemented but game itself is VERY playable especially if You toy around with sandbox mode. I've spend in game around 80h and only once I was forced to use "Import pilot" feature as a work around a bug- which proves it is already very stable. I'm looking forward for full game version now:)

A realistic space sim that's fun to play
I have been watching this game for a while and part of what won me over is the detailed and regular communication the Dev has with his customers and potential customers. Just today, I played for about 3 hours straight and never noticed the time. The game manages to address the difficulty of space battles (the pain of dying) by providing choices of what happens after you die, restart, load save, etc. Want to be iron man, that's up to you, want to go back to save (that's me) do that. The mining is so relaxing, the sound and movement of the beams, the refining, it's all so good, and as much fun as I'm having now, the game isn't fully designated as "done", so that means more fun can be added. I have all the top name space games like this one, NMS (a decent game, a bit too fluffy and stingy on space battle missions), and others, but THIS one is holding my attention. There's so many options to choose from in what you want to be, miner, trader, pirate, law, etc, so many ships to save up to buy, same thing with the weapons and modules. Just traveling from point A to point D becomes a challenge in and of itself if you run into pirates. Do yourself a favor, if you want a space game you can loose yourself in, this is it.

Eve Offline
Its close enough to Eve Online to scratch that itch without dealing with a-holes.

Much Potential--Needs to be Finished.
As I say above. The game is a bit sterile now, however, it IS in development. The first few hours or maybe day is okay but after you learn the ropes you see there's not much to do. It has some bugs. Two missions were bugged. Once the pilot needing escort never arrived, the second time the "hunted" gave me a tutorial until I flagged "friendly fire" and killed him (that had to be a bug). I also lost 2 million credits when my Life Support items vanished when I logged back into the game for another session. The graphics are good and the combat isn't horrible, but mining is the best way to make money and the npcs are about as charismatic as the ones in Eve-Online. Still, for five bucks, I'd buy it in the hopes it fleshes out. I could return it now but I'll give the dev some slack since he clearly states it's in development.
