Alone in the Dark: The Trilogy 1+2+3

I have the original floppy disk so i was fueled with nostalgia playing again this game, which is probably the best of the trilogy for multiple reasons: Open House after the first part where you can take diferent aproaches of how completing the game, diferent characters if only for astetic, the puzzles are the least moonlogic of the series. The gameplay consist in tank controls, actions controlled by inventory interface and inventory management (you should drop objects used because you have weight limit). It didn't age well, newcomers would need lot of patience to get used to the controls, there is also a lot of reading that you need to get though to solve most of the puzzles. I'm afraid that is my nostalgia that make me like this game so i dropped stars as i saw gameplay and puzzle problems that are much harder without a guide. Recommended as a museum of old games for those interested.

works fine with win XP...also the sound and the music during the game. as a bonus there is also the soundtrack of alone in the dark 1-3....great work, gog.com !

By chance I came across this classic here, and this(for me)classic game is what made my love for survival horror games. In light of what the gaming industry is today(high quality graphics/controls etc. this game will probably remain in the shadows, but those who where brave enough to look there to begin with will always have this gem in there personal treasury. I love Alone in the Dark series. If they where not inspiration for other games that would soon follow, it certainly was inspiring for myself. For its price, you cannot possibly go wrong. If not, 6$ can probably afford you a meal at McD's, although that will not stick with you like this game did for those who played it :) My review may not sound like gold, but there is honestly no way to put it positive enough in the eyes of others w/o them having played it themselves.

i rememebr playing this on my brothers first pc in the early 90s and it scared the crud out of me, so am i glad that i found it again many years later, it doesnt scare me anymore but its still awesome

Try the games that started them all. I played a lot of games with my dad when I was a kid; these, I'll never forget. Everything from the mystery you work to unravel, all the way to the creatures out to kill you, these games changed gaming and created a genre. Do yourself a favor, and give these a try.
