Agent A: A puzzle in disguise

Oozing with style, both the the jazzy music and the cartoonish 60's aestethic contibute to a great atmosphere while you solve puzzles and hunt your elusive espionage targt in this point and clicker. The challenges are never too too impossible or improbable, and the game is over in a few well spent hours.

(+) The gameplay is very enjoyable, the visuals are great, controls are good too. (-) Most of the puzzles are very easy and there isn't a challenge like in the Sierra and LucasArts games from the past.

I like the game's look and atmosphere and enjoyed the game's humor. Puzzles make sense in light of the available items. There is a lot of changing between screens. There are a lot of screens, every screen change has a small animation and changing screens takes some time. This gets annoying very fast. It is not always clear which items can be interacted with or which paths exist. That's mostly OK, but can lead to frustrated running around trying to find the screen or item required to be able to proceed. This is made worse by the screen changing experience. I played on an older Laptop with Intel graphics on Linux via wine. The fan was constantly running at full speed. I'm not sure if that's a missing frame limiter or something related to my setup.

Everything in this game is rudimentary and primitive, except for a subtle sense of humor and puzzles. The puzzles are sometimes innovative but always humorously logical. They are not frustrating but not dead easy neither. It took me 10+ hours to solve them. Ten plus hours of fun, while trickle charging my brain power depleted after some vey difficult games. For the equivalent of one beer it's definitely a big yes. For the full price (20 euro-bucks) is a bit disappointing though.

I really enjoy games like these where the puzzles aren't insanely difficult but are varied in nature, and the story continues to move. Controls are simplistic and to the point.
