Krypsyn: Oh, yeah, funny thing, trentonlf. You were coming after me for trying to lead town to certain votes. It is true, but it is very similar to how I play a pro-town role.
This was one of the more shocking things to me actually! Having played a game or two of this with you I was surprised how much your Scum and Town play align. Maybe a pointer or two for the next game ;)

Also, like the random trivia mrkgnao!

HijacK: Rule #1: Don't trust anybody. I believe the outcome of this game proves my point.
Heh. You did have your vote in the right place on Day 2. The problem is that you had some trouble making convincing enough arguments to sway the rest of town. So:

Rule #2: Be convincing. I know the outcome proves my point. :)

trentonlf: The part that hurt the village was the absence of GDW for so long. His absence made it easier on the wolves as we would have sat on 2 votes forever waiting on him.

Ixamyakxim: I was so torn on this. I thought for sure the village would have lynched him yesterDAY(day in the game) but they quickly turned on amok. I also thought it would serve to "draw out" the wolves who were eager to point a finger at GDW, but always content to leave him in the game.

In the end, while I knew he might be a problem in the endgame I decided that bogging down the game with a new player might slow things too much. I decided that if the villagers left him in game, for better or worse I'd have to let it ride. My biggest fear was that a wolf would have sat at 2 votes forever, and I would have to jump in and "make the kill" on a wolf myself - and probably modkill GDW at the same time.

I thought more likely would be that 1) a villager cast a vote for a fellow villager or 2) a wolf would go in early on another wolf to "cover" himself and the remaining 2 villagers would pile on. If it ended up with two votes "stuck" on a wolf for a period of time, I would have harassed GDW by PM more than I had been, or cast the (obvious at that point) vote myself. Not ideal, but not awful either.
We didn't want to win or lose on some GDW-related technicality and we certainly didn't want a long period of waiting for him. That's why the seer reveal was the best way of cutting it clean.

trentonlf: Well played game by the two of you.
Thanks. You too. You had me dead to rights on Day 3. You had my motivation and reasoning down pretty much exactly. It actually caught me off guard and I made a mistake in my reply. I forgot that amok had voted for mrkgnao, not me, so I thought your vote on me put me to two votes (tied with amok). That is why I did the whole "If I am lynched thing, at least we won't immediately lose" thing. Since yours was the first vote on mt, it came of more defensive than I might have wanted (it would have pinged my scumdar hard if someone else had done it).

trentonlf: I was ready to also point out the comment you made about how you would not play this game anymore as it was not suiting you, yet you kept making posts like an interested person.
Actually, that was the truth.

Lying is not fun. I feel like I need to make a dentist's appointment to clean my tongue and teeth from all the lies (and the blood).

But I am also not one to take my duties lightly. So, I did my best to lie as convincly as I could. Any job not worth doing, I worth not doing well.

I'm still undecided about playing another game. Although, I am a bit tempted...

You weren't convincing enough for me, so no. It does not prove your point since neither popperik bought on you wagon. Just the gullible ones.

I layed it out there, no one else went with it. I had no choice but to vote amok for a lynch as a curse was about to fall upon us. Guess we should have listened to RWarehall at that time and voted GDW out, would have been better in the end ;)

I have to agree here. I really enjoy playing town more than I like playing scum. I mean, no matter the alignment, it is interesting, but I really like the whodunit type mystery you get as a town-aligned player.

I will definitely play the next mafia game, i just hope participation level is high enough to keep it going.

Next game will be moderated by either Telika or me. I sent Telika a PM on Friday to see if he was ready (since this game seemed to be winding down), but I haven't heard back yet. He is technically ahead of my in the queue, so I plan to give him a few more days.

trentonlf: Well played game by the two of you.
Thanks. I believe that everyone who survived to day #3 played very well (with the exception of GDW).
I believe that were it not for GDW, we might well have lost.

It is possible. It certainly would have changed the dynamic quite a bit.

Will your game be one with lots of roles, or a basic one like this?
I vote lots of roles :)

Next time make sure the volunteers for this type of game has a history of activity. It's not so fun when suddenly someone disappears for days or weeks.
