Grargar: Right, I can't read.
Well, you asked. T_T
I'm trying to get my girlfriend into PC gaming. So far, in the last 20 years, the ONLY game she will play is "Bookworm", starring...A worm.

I'm hoping that by containing multiple worms, she will like this even better.

So, bring it on!

Also, I am having heart bypass surgery in a few weeks, so I'm glad we can play this before I go under the knife. Because I'm scared to death (they have to stop my heart during surgery, which is freaking me out), and I need a good game to keep my mind off it!

I know, but I forgot that the answer was already posted, hence me condemning my reading comprehension.

My bad, I didn't read it like that.

I honestly don't know how it happens; unable to read, but able to type. Must be some kind of magic.

If I purchase here on GoG I'm not limited to playing multiplayer with only people who have purchased on GoG correct. I.E. there will me compatibility with say steam players. Worms Reloaded used steamplay so curious as to how the multiplayer functions here. I would rather purchase here than at steam but I don't want to lock my self out of being able to play with that population
I was already going to buy when a big message appeared saying Worms does not support Linux. I don't care much about official or native support, but do anyone have any experience with Wine?

Yes, both GOG and Steam players will be ablo to play online because of one simple reason : It's not Steam who manage the servers, but Team17 (they call it Wormnet, if I'm not mistaken).

Either way, even if it was the case, you'd still be able to play online using a VPS over the LAN multiplayer.

But one question that remains is : what about direct TPC/IP connection ? I don't want to use a VPS and I don't want to play on public servers. Will I be able to open a game, and then have my friends just enter my IP address/domain name to join me ?

I can't find the official confirmation right now, but it has been stated on this forum by GOG and possibly Team17 that WWP will use a Team17 master server for multiplayer so you shouldn't have any problem playing with others online who bought the game elsewhere.

See this message from GOG :
"Hey guys, small update.
The newspost originally said that the game will feature GOG Galaxy support for stuff like leader boards, achievements as well as multiplayer with friends on any compatible platform. That was a bit misleading - the multiplayer will be powered by Team17's infrastructure, with GOG Galaxy support for remaining features."

Is this what you are looking for ?
