Mike_Team17: Hello GOGers,

I'm Mike, Team17's community manager. I wanted to come along to the forum and set up a new thread about today's news that Worms World Party Remastered has been delayed. Here's the skinny:

During final testing for today's release of the game, our QA team discovered a critical bug buried deep in the game's code.

No one at Team17 is happy releasing the game with this bug in place. We'll be working our prods off to get this fixed and on sale as soon as possible. I don't currently have an ETA for you, our dev team are looking at how long the bug will take to fix and how many people we can put onto fixing it right now. As soon as I know more, I'll let you know here.

You can use this thread to get updates from me, or to ask me anything in general about Team17/Worms. I'm managing this news across a lot of channels today, so please bear with me as it may take some time for me to reply!

Love,
MT17

KMetalMind: Just one question. What are the differences between the original release and this one? I suppose higher resolutions and Xbox pad support are probably two of them, but... Is there something more? I still own the original game, but these tiny details will make me buy the game again anyway...
From the Steam forums:

"The "Remastered" part refers to the in-game graphics upgrade (1080p60) and the updated sounds (recorded in better quality or, in some cases, re-made from scratch. If you prefer the old sounds, you can switch back to them in the options menu). We've also added contoller support."

Hi!

Would just like some clarification on LAN support, will playing LAN work without an internet connection?

Yes, I know LAN support is in, but I'm wondering if it's playable without a connection to the internet / a master server.
It should be, but wasn't in a few games such as Age of Wonders.

There was another "DRM-free" game besides Age of Wonder 3 that required internet for LAN play? AOW3 is a "special" exception, sure, but I'd love to hear about these other games.
I have never actually heard of this Worms game. Is it just like the others?

Let's just say its the Quintissential Worms games that really all other games afterward are within its shadow.

I say buy it for having that "Perfect" Worms game.

As much as I love worms, not at this price lol. I'll check it out at some point.

It was my first Worms game and introduction to the series. And what an introduction it was.

And I liked Worms 3D. It pulled off the gameplay in a 3D plane well.

My first worms game was the original PC release all the way back when... shit I can't even remember lol.

Well World Party offers so much content and so much weapons and gadgets. Look at the list:

I don't know of any other, but there may be in other games :P
Since AoW 3 I'm just going to be careful from now on.
Happy Monday everyone!

I've just arrived in the office and immediately sought out updates from the dev team. They're making solid progress and are looking happy, we should have a solid update for you very soon. Stay tuned.

To answer a few Q's:

What's new?
We've remastered the graphics to ensure 60 frames at 1080p, and remastered the sound too. If you prefer the old school Worms experience, we've included the original sounds and music too! We've also done some work on the online functionality to make it a little simpler.

LAN Support?
Definitely. You don't have to be connected to the internet.

Is it the same as other Worms games?
Ooof, what a question. OK - yes and no.

Yes - it's the same Worms you know and love. Blowing stuff up and laughing at your friends' misfortune. There's a campaign, training, local and online multiplayer and loads of amazing soundbanks/customisation options.

No - it's a fan favourite for a very good reason. WWP features the original Worms Ninja Rope which is a BIG DEAL. This rope goes around corners and there's some amazing things that you can do with it. There's also co-operative missions that can be played online or over LAN, WormPot which allows you to make explosive tweaks to your game (eg -2x explosions power or all crates contain sheep, a personal favourite of mine) and even a mission editor bundled with the game.

Hope that helps folks,

MT17

EDIT: forgot to close a bold tag.

(this would be a HUGE plus)

+ is it the old lan "network code" or has it been tuned for the remastered release ?
