ZocomMAX: Amazed to see a GOG sale without a freebie, might be the first time? that aside, I'm getting a game I've been wanting to get for a hot bit that is on sale now. Fun times ahead!
Book of Demons just added as a giveaway it appears.

I just seen this yes, I stand corrected, cheers GOG X)

Mori_Yuki: This has certainly been suggested before, but could you not work on a banner wallpaper art pack and sell it? I'm not looking for something like this for free, hence the emphasis on selling.
avatar
KosmicznaPluskwa: Hmm, the way I see it, visuals for sales are creations that were made with a purpose of selling games on the event so in a way, given they're completing it's purpose, people coming to the store are already paying for them; selling the art separately on top of that feels redundant and just not right somehow for me. Hopefully in the future we could have a separate section on the site to make them available separately as wallpapers for anyone to access anytime they want though!
I appreciate your generosity and willingness to share your works of art for free! I'm also aware that you have already been compensated for your work, which doesn't negate the possibility of selling an art pack. Firstly, because it involves additional work, and more importantly, it provides an opportunity for us to give back to you.

If you decide out of the goodness of your hearts not to sell it, you could consider opening a donation page. The funds collected could be shared between you or donated to causes such as homeless shelters. Think about it! :-)

That would be great.

Supporting charity causes is always a good idea, so who knows, if there would be an interest...? I guess we're (or maybe I should just say "I am" here) always a bit stuck in this idea that we gotta bring something extra for the users if it's to have any extra value than just serving it's marketing purpose, but it wouldn't hurt to try putting together a GOG goodie pack out of some nice, high quality pre-existing things. Of course I can't make any decisions here and it would be a whole process but I'll surely bring it up to the team once there's a good opportunity for such!

Thank you for considering this suggestion! Let me say that replies like yours are greatly appreciated because they contribute to my positive customer experience, even though you are posting this in a private capacity. I truly wish such interaction would increase, in both official and private capacities, because communication is key! :-)

Back on topic, would it help to add an entry to the Wishlist to help convince the responsible team by demonstrating customer interest and demand?

KosmicznaPluskwa:
I've considered asking for a paid banners pack before but it doesn't seem right to pay for marketing. It is more artistic than most store sale advertising (which is usually not even artistic at all looking at all types of stores) so it doesn't seem like purely marketing but just seeing it for sale might be a turn off for some people who are new to GOG. You could say that marketing has the GOG logo (provide those free) and versions without the logo that are nice for desktop wallpapers (I like GOG but I'm not a fan of branded stuff everywere, on the computer or off) have a small fee for a yearly bundle that adds each sale as it happens. I guess it wouldn't bring in a lot of money but maybe enough to pay for the time to make them available more easily/regularly. A charity bundle would work too.

I think it would! Any visual representation of interest with a Number is good, managements everywhere love numbers after all, right?

When it comes to staff interaction, I'm not particularly active on discord myself but from what I know few staff members are pretty responsive on GOG Café server, there's an invite link to be found on reddit, or I could share one too. I guess I'm too much of a millenial and still prefer forums, easier to find specific community feedback I'm curious about

Honestly personally I'm just really happy our work is appreciated and if in time nothing official ever materializes i'll just share a private gdrive folder with all past sales visuals wallpapers or something of a similar kind, haha

Without knowing your tastes, I want to still recommend Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (currently at a 85% discount). It is the game that made me realize videogames can be works of art.

Certainly!

Here is the Wishlist entry Sadly, my little sales-pitch wasn't added, when I initially posted this wish, so I've added it by way of a comment.

So, anyone interested, please share this link and vote. :-)

I also prefer forums and IRC over more social media channels, starting out with BBS, which I will say no more about, lest I start feeling as old as I deny to be. ;-)

thank you. looks quite open-world-rpgish like skyrim, only i prefer first person view for immersion and this game doesnt seem switchable into it

It's not open world; although at some points you can choose what mission/zone to clear first, progress is quite linear. It's not an RPG either, more of an action and puzzle game with very strong storyline and acting. You are right on the perspective, it's third person.
