The real question is why would the media report on ethics in media? It's kinda like biting one's own foot. That is why it won't get reported. Most media conglomerates own TV stations, newspapers, magazines and more and avoid being a monopoly in any one of them but still grow bigger.

Print media is dead. Tv media isn't far behind it. This is just a dying establishment's last stand against an ever changing way of human communication. That's the great thing about the internet. It began as a way to feed directives and control people, and instead the monster got loose and actual free, dynamic human beings ran away with it.

If the MSM actually did an in-depth investigation into the causes and effects of ethics in their own industry, all their heads would explode and the entire media world would go dark. They'd be forced to come to the conclusion that their own creation was cancerous and beyond the point of no return. However, occasionally attempting a pussy-foot dip into their own social impacts via research and journalism, they give the public the illusion that they're not above policing their own. They are. Like George Carlin once said, 'it's a big club, and you ain't in it!' They're extreme narcissists. You'd have an easier time getting Jeffrey Dahmer to turn vegan than you would getting these people to rationally evaluate their own poisonous rhetoric.
A bit shocked to find this on the BBC today:

babark: Probably best to give up that label if they're serious about combatting "corruption in game journalism".
Its not about corruption in game journalism anymore, its about apologies for hurt feelings:

But at least the article addressed some of the concerns of Gamergate. Unlike other articles which were completely one-sided and declaring it a hate group as part of the story. It appears slanted in Zoe's direction, but as such, there is some attempt at objectivity. The article didn't completely fawn all over Zoe and basically say "You were harassed, you should get everything you want."

Of course, here we go again with Zoe trying to get everyone else to attack Gamergate, keep stirring the pot...
And some people have asked why it's Zoe, Anita, Brianna and Leigh being talked about...
Look who's on the BBC, Stephen Colbert, You Tube interviews and constantly tweeting how bad Gamergate is. Maybe that is why it's mostly about them....

We can see she's lost some weight in the video so this whole GG was at least good for her physical health... (running away before I get stoned to death ^o^)

BTW, her patreon, is now at 3.645$/month, that's around 500$ more than a few weeks ago. Time to place some bets to see if she's gonna get the 4.000$/month or not ;)
It's a bit old, but it's become really relevant now, so I'll just leave this here.

keithdrop: She blindly drank the anti-gg koolaid. If she is too busy to read up on the internet and youtube to find out about GG, she should have STFU and not just repeat what her mentor that stupid prick Wheadon said about GG.
Your 'aggressive' stance on the subject gives her credit as chincilla said. It would better serve your purpose to respect her feelings. You have nothing positive to "gain" by casting doubt (or being diminishing or sarcastic) on how people feel, you should just leave it at that even if it annoys you, whatever the reason is.
No thursday release apparently so you have an excuse to buy The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter:

EDIT: Also, if you want something to read, here's Sarkeesian's master thesis about women in SF and fantasy TV series :

They're probably putting that in because of all the complaints they got for their first reports on it.

Time to pre-emptively change your passwords (worst case scenario), lenghty ones (like complete sentences) are the best from a security POV. All different from sites to sites of course (be sure to note them down on paper, it can be hard to remember them all after a while.

That was an interesting read :)

I'm assuming the game he mentioned about showing the bad effects of bullying is Ethan Carter. Which game was he referring to that he made which had a strong female character? I'm interested in playing it now, but I'm not sure which other games he made.

That sucks :( Is it too late to set up a separate professional Twitter for the game so that people don't judge the game based on your personal Twitter comments? It's unfair and you shouldn't have to do that, but it might be easier than dealing with people trying to sabotage the game for stupid reasons.

Oh no... no no no...

I foolishly tweeted something about it with the #gamergate hashtag, and now I've got a bunch of pro-GGers saying they are going to buy my game to support me.

I don't want to be part of this, at all, right now.

My Twitter is exploding.

Ok, I think it's stopped...

please ignore me, internet.

What the hell? He incites people against you and then demands you never contact him again after you politely say there was a misunderstanding? And he claims GG is the hate movement? :S
