Whether you bought the game, got the demo in a box of Kellogg's, or haven't even heard of it - here's your chance to visit the Wild West!

Go on a journey to New Mexico in 1881 as one of the six Desperados that are on the hunt for the train robbing "El Diablo." As John Cooper, the bounty hunter engage your enemies in a real time strategy game - think [url=http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#all_genres/search/commandos/]Commandos but with revolvers and a Wild West setting. Utilize each team member's unique skillset, ranging from carrying Gatling guns or faking a siesta to special equipment like Mia's monkey or Samuel with his love for TNT. Overcome the engaging missions with unique setting and scenery. Challenge the robust AI system which makes each try at a mission a unique experience.

Apart from the enemies, your heroes also have unique gameplay features like Quick Action which lets you bind a series of actions into one button, so you can shoot your enemies "John Wayne style".

So what game made you ride with the outlaws? It's Desperados, we think :)
Awesome release, another cult-y game for the catalogue.
Yay, it's Outlaws! Oh wait...

$6 is a great price, I was honestly expecting it to be $10. I'm adding this to my wishlist, too many unfinished games to justify buying now.

SLP2000: Anyway, if we talk about western games, how about Mad Dog McCree ? I still remeber it was available on about 87 floppies.
I had MDM1 and 2. Pretty fun for their time, but completable in an hour rofl. They came on CD for me though.

GOG.com: So what game made you ride with the outlaws? It's Desperados, we think :)
I should have known. First I expected Outlaws, till I realized that LucasArts hasn't joined GOG yet. Then I thought about GUN, which is a game by Activision. But as mentioned, the upcoming releases will all be by Atari. So it had to be Desperados.

I have never played Desperados, but some friend of mine was very excited about it back then. It's not top priority for me, but will be wishlisted and maybe bought when it's on sale.

Shivvy: Dust is indeed an awesome game. Who made it or owns the rights? Anyone know?

Leroux: According to Mobygames.com it was made by Cyberflix Incorporated and published by BMG INteractive Entertainment who "eventually became a short-lived publishing label of DMA Design, purchased in 1998 by Take Two Interactive and then became part of Rockstar Games". So maybe T2 now owns the rights?
Quite possible, cyberflix also made titanic - adventure out of time before they went under. I have been able to run the games in windows 7 with virtual xp mode, but it would be cool to see a proper release on gog.
Played the demo a long time ago. Never could get into these type of games, that includes Commandos. Make it turn based and I'm sold :)

But I know it's an appreciated game, even if not by me, so it's a very good release from GoG.
I'm very surprised more people aren't excited, seeing as people tend to get extremely happy about some games I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. This is an instant buy for me, or rather, would be if I didn't still have some free games to claim for the warrior contest - I have played Desperados many times, I still remember all the times I spent huddled up by a friends computer as we slooooowly trial and error'd our way through the cotton plantation level.
Make no mistake, this game is very hard, but also extremely rewarding.
Someone above described it as Commandos in the wild west - add to this a solid story (if nothing special) and interesting, diverse characters with their own history - something that commandos didn't really have - and you have a simply superb experience.
I'm so psyched about playing this again, I can feel the frustration building already!

I can never get over how beautiful these isometric, pre-rendered games are.
Must buy if you're a Commandos fan. Otherwise better play the demo first.
I used to be very keen of these games where you have to watch the environment for a while to be able to see the weak spots and get the mission done.

But now I'm old and not patient enough...
I have box version of the game. it is really good. Buy if you don't own it!

Isamael: I'm very surprised more people aren't excited
Maybe due to the fact that many already saw it coming. I still have the retail version of it and I think it runs fine on Vista, without intrusive DRM. What I've seen of it was beautiful and immersive but I never even got past the fourth tutorial level or so, the difficulty was just too hard and frustrating for me (I don't really enjoy games where I have to sneak and pray that the AI doesn't spot me or else all hell breaks loose and I'm better off re-loading). Still, a good old game that belongs on GOG, I guess.
one of the best 2d games i have ever played.im commandos fan but this is way better
I'm kinda glad it's not Outlaws. Outlaws I would have to instantly buy, and I'm so low on cash that even 6 dollars weight. I like Desperados, but it can sit tightly on my wishlist for a while.
Never played Commandos, but I really like the look of this game. Wishlisted for later!
"think Commandos but with revolvers and a Wild West setting"

Which makes this relevant to my interests. I'll wish list this one.
