Yup, that's the one. Games sold on UK amazon usually are stupidly cheap, but you'll have to be careful during the checkout process, since the shipping costs may vary wildly from seller to seller. Video games usually ship for around GBP4,00. If you're lucky, you might find a seller who ships video games for the same prices as DVDs (around GBP1,80). But on the odd occasion, I've had sellers who has set the shipping costs at GBP16,00 and higher, so please be aware of that.

All in all, I paid GBP4,20 for Hard Reset.

Yes, about £2-4 is the usual shipping amount I'm paying for Amazon. I just didn't know that the Extended Edition of Hard Reset was ever Steamless.

Note that it doesn't include Stronghold 3 which has Steam DRM. So this would be Stronghold 1, Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold Crusader Extreme, Stronghold 2 and Stronghold Legends all on a single disc

I've bought The wolf among us DVD version and it's absolutely drm-free. Don't require steam account or anything. The DVD contain a file.exe,you only have to install and then you don't need even the DVD.

First of all, my most abject apologies for keeping you waiting for over half a year for my little confirmation. It kept slipping my mind, then my 3 TB hard drive died on me,... Furthermore, I'll be moving to China next week, so I made it one of my last official duties to check my retail copy of Hard Reset for DRM. I only got around to unwrapping the Hard Reset DVD earlier today.

Anyway, here's how it works:

- Unplug your internet.
- Install Hard Reset
- Upon launching the game, the Kalypso launcher will make a sad face "Y U NO haz interwebz?!"
- Laugh in that fucker's face while you type in the CD-key from the back of your manual
- Start the game

Now for the best part: The next time you launch the game, you won't even have to have the DVD in your drive.

Now for the worst part: The Kalypso launcher will check for an internet connection at each start of the game! You'll have to unplug your internet each time before you start the game.

In summary, it hardly is DRM-free, but at least you do get an option to play it on a machine that has no internet connection whatsoever. Whether or not the game is worth the GBP0.90 asking price on amazon is now up for you to decide. ;)

Is there a reason why Hard Reset still isn't on GOG yet? GOG already has the latest Shadow Warrior and that was made by the same company.

Would anybody mind answering a question or two for me?

First, I thought that CoD: World at War (pretty much the newest CoD I want on PC) didn't have DRM, but some reviewers were mentioning that it required Punkbusters... I think... anyway, all I wanna do is play single player if I come across a cheap copy.

I was on SecuRom's website and they said that they supported Medieval II. I thought they were talking about the X-pack only, but while doing a search on my PC I did find something about Far Cry 2 (weird in the sense that it was the only version I own, which is my GOG one). This one I'm fairly certain is nothing, but if anyone could put paranoia to rest, that'd be cool.

Lastly, I own Men of War on DVD. I read the European version shipped with DRM and that Aspyr shipped it without. Problem is, I own the UK copy. Does that make it pretty much the European version with a British rating or does not have any for one reason or another.
