IMPORTANT: Please read before posting This topic has been provided to discuss the latest releases of our Downloader (for both Mac and Windows systems) and to submit bug reports. The stable releases (recommended for most users) can be found at this address:http://www.gog.com/downloader.

Latest version:

Mac OS X - 1.2 (build 512)
Windows - 3.6.0

Both Downloaders now have the option of sending Error Reports directly to us (this can be found in app under Settings).

Hi GOG team,

Like many fans, I have been reading this thread since last week.
My post on the detail of my problem is on page 38 (muttala) which I do not want to add up here to the already long thread.

I certainly grateful for GOG downloader and love GOG DRM free intention , the problem is I bought witcher 2 which is a huge 15GB+ file and I have spent a month downloading it to 8GB.

The latest new downloader is unable to resume from 8 GB which is really a massive pain to otherwise excellent service of GOG.

I am not sure if the team allow temporarily downgrade back to previous version which is ok, certainly I am willing to upgrade the downloader once witcher 2 is done

I've been trying to download The Witcher, but the downloader keeps asking to update, and after the update, removes The Witcher from the download list. When I add it again, it starts the download from zero percent. The web browser download also does not resume after pausing. I've given up and am downloading games from Steam now :(. Disappointed.

If you haven't been following this thread, you probably don't know this is a problem for tons of users. The new version of the downloader is basically broken. So, for now, I've given up downloading, too. But GOG has made it clear they're working on it.

Generally, in my experience, GOG's been pretty reliable, at least as far as downloading games. Surely they'll take steps to prevent another downloader fiasco like this one.

Unfortunately, downgrade to previous version is not possible due to changes in our internal system.

We are working on fixing all bugs related to GOG Downloader.

Remove all files from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com, remove folder with downloaded parts and try again, it should help. If it doesn't help, please post here your log.txt which can be found in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com.

gcountach: When the download first started, it was going at a normal progression (gradual increase in progression bar and download amount), then it jumps to nearly complete even though that's not possible with my internet connection in that time. I left it running while I went to town and found that error when I returned 2-3 hours later.
I checked this issue, it happen due to your net connection loss. I will add additional protection to prevent such situations.

My download progress now looks to be correct, as well as removing games actually removes the game instead of adding it back after restart. The only problem I am currently experiencing is that it is not resuming after restart. It starts each game from 0 bytes.

The message when removing is also confusing. It states that it will remove all downloaded files, although it never does.

Hello...

Since yesterday's update:
My queue was gone. I was almost finishing downloading the Witcher... When I downloaded it again, the downloader didn't bother to resume, but started over.

Random crashes, incomplete downloads, random checksum errors, slow download speed, download is done but downloader keeps downloading... etc...

Please fix it, I want to play The Witcher :(

According to log you posted, you are not downloading The Witcher at all. Anyway, firstly clear your app data folder located as below:
Windows 7/Vista - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com
Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\GOG.com
And try to download a game again.
