hedwards: The downloader is effectively completely broken at this point. Reordering doesn't work because it changes to a drag and drop file thing.
I know it has plenty of issues (losing the download queue when re-started, etc...) and I have experienced most of them but, at least on my PC (Seven 64), I don't seem to have the reorder drag and drop issue you describe. (the status refresh is working too)

Venom: The push feature is not gone for good, we concluded our beta testing, and once we polish all the issues it will make a come back.
When it comes back, any hope to have it work even if the downloader is no running ? (i.e. you can add games to your download queue from anywhere and have them being downloaded the next time you start the downloader)

[EDIT: after 2 days of these problems, everything seems to run fine now, probably it was a server issue / screwed API calls ]

[EDIT2: spoke too soon, behaviour is erratic, some downloads work, some go on with the same bad behaviour explained below: just plain ridicolous....]

Agreed on the "completely broken": after the update I have been unable to download even a single game via the downloader.
Problems seen (various kinds all together, never ever experienced with the previous version):
+first download stuck at 0%
+download deleted but still going on (..!), therefore keeping apparently stuck all the others (took a while to find out!)
+ left the "ghost" download end, others started, all giving checksum corrupted in chunk 0
+ in many occasions clicking on the website doesn't even queue up the download
+ tried everything, like clean/remove the list, reboot, uninstall downloader and reinstall, nothing changes

Please fix this ASAP, thanks!

I am able to put items in the queue for download but is shows no progress unless I click "Pause" and "resume all". The other items in the queue say paused even though I hit resume all. I tried deleting the log and it did nothing to help fix it. Edit. Just tried uninstalling, deleting the log and games, then reinstalled. It works now.
Edit.
Never mind, Just popped up with an error telling me to check the log.

Looks like they repaired download additional content feature. Other bugs still present. I just don't get it. After first problems with new downloader GOG took proper path: split downloader to stable and beta versions to introduce fixes&new features to beta first to...eeee test it and after that -put in stable version. But we didn't have any beta update for months...and out of the blue we all got MANDATORY update to new, 'stable' version.

Apparently there is sth wrong with GOG's internal testing procedures...Why GOG just not invite say 250 of us to test new version? Why were we not warned that new version gives up chunks and if you are in the middle of downloading game you will have to start from the beginning?

EDIT: And just one word for web developement team: fix those paragraphs, please.

So, I've used about 4 days worth of bandwidth trying to download IWD with no luck, the GOG downloader says it is done, but to no avail, the download is definitely not complete.

I would try and use another downloader, but of course the site won't let you use a 3rd party download manager and it will download for about 10 minutes before kicking off and not having any way to resume...

You can use browser to download.
There are some alternative downloaders written by community members.

My downloader behaves strangely also. It downloads nice and fast, but for some reason it starts the installer twice each time.. tried with about 8 interplay titles today and it happens with each of them.

Thanks!

I'll try one of the other downloaders, problem is with the browser is I disconnect a lot, but with the way satellite internet works here in Afghanistan, it is not the most dependable way of downloading then resuming when I get interrupted

The 'funny' thing , is the beta version was more stable , than the stable one .... xD

i think , it's not a good thing to force the update , while there're still downloads to resume ....: Also , they should put extra code , to let the previous version usable, at least if there're problems like the current release have , we would have a backup plan.

Axtually there's no way to use the downloader properly.... Alternate solution is to use the browser (ok for bonus & game under 2GB (above games are spiitted in multiples files)) . Or using another dowloader like the ones above.

Yeah, I updated to the beta version months ago because the regular version didn't work for me at all. The new version seems to be horribly broken and with a non-intuitive interface.

Apparently the drag and drop system was change drastically without any particular warning. If you want to reorder games, you have to click and drag the icon, if you click on the individual items they only let you prioritize them with respect to that game. Which means that if you just want to download the small bonus content first and still have the other items in your queue, that you can't do it.

Intuitively it makes no sense at all, and I'm not really sure why that change was made. But it looks like the other things are now fixed.

Apparently, it's "working" for me as well, it's just that the UI is completely unintuitive. If you click the individual item you can only reorder with respect to other downloads for that game. If you want to reorder the game, you have to click on the icon itself, but then you can't reorder it so that you download all the games before all the content without adding the content later after all the games are finished downloading.

And I don't see any hints in the UI to suggest that I should do that.

I do not use the Downloader when downloading my GOG games. I download each individual file by just clicking on it. I've tried downloading Legend of Grimrock, The Witcher, and Alan Wake...and every one of them said that there were corrupted files. I am not really sure if it's GOG that is the problem on that, though, as it's a new computer rig and other games outside of GOG (Guild Wars 2, League of Legends) have been crashing alongside Flash through Google Chrome.
Any word from GOG when the downloader will be fixed? Browser-based downloading isn't viable for some of us, so, for the moment, I can't access the games on my shelf. I really would like to use an older, non-broken version of the downloader.
Is it possible to downgrade from 3.2.7.0 until they fix it? If so where can we get the old downloader?

Unfortunatly (for what i know) , it's not possible .. .

Even so , u manage to get your hand on the prevous version , u'll be prompted to install the buggy version ./

ATM , "workarounds" i know is either going through the browser or by trying one of the others downloader (see the wiki , the link was provided in a post above).

If u want to try , with the 3.0.52 , i have still have it on my NAS (so i could eventually upload it later somewhere)

Well the latest version of the downloader (3.2.70) is not working properly for me. It seems to be impossible to download a game as I am losing MB's by the second. Can you please bring back the old method where the downloads were parted in chunk files and then merged when the downloading completed? That worked pretty well for me.

I am using Windows 7.
