bansama: If anyone is thinking of taking advantage of the 10% PlayFirst "sale" on Steam, don't waste your time. Go to BigFish Games and save up to 53% on the price =) Most likely even more for those in the Euro zone as BigFish Games still only charges in US dollars.

How is bigfish? They're cheap as hell and have tons of adventure games but I don't know anyone that subscribes to that $6.99/month one game per month service.

First off, you don't even need to subscribe anymore. The $6.99 price tag applies to *everyone*. Just remember, to opt out of the monthly billing if you don't want to subscribe (you can do that during your purchase).
If you do subscribe, they will charge you the cost of one game per month giving you credit in return. But you're not limited to only 1 game a month, you can easily buy additional credits or pay for games out right.
Their support is top notch. Pretty much the complete opposite to that for Steam. These people actually want to help you and -- surprisingly -- can actually read and comprehend what you write.
In fact, the only real downside is having to opt out of the monthly subscription model as it still appears to cause some confusion.

I was about to buy something but I don't see the "opt out" button. Do you do it after you order?

If it's no longer shown during the purchasing process, you'll certainly find it in your account page. Under the heading "Cancel My Membership".

If anyone wants HL2 I'll gift it to them for a GOG game. (Judge Dredd, Freespace 2, Arx Fatalis, Flatout, or BG&E if you're feeling generous ;-) )
(though if you want more than just HL2 you might want to get a package deal).
The Special Forces Edition of Empire: Total War is on D2D's bargain counter this weekend. Anyone played this? Is it worth 15 BPs?

I thought you loved it.
I feel the same way. Though I think it's cause their system makes me feel like I'm renting from them.
