I'll probably check out a few screenshots and harass people who pick it up when it releases to see how it plays. I could maybe see myself giving it a shot if I'm in a bit of a "gaming dry" spell but I'll certainly make sure it holds up decently / is actually fun before I take the plunge.
I never played Throne of Darkness..but after a bit of on line checking, the weak reviews,,poor sales, and the lack of fangroups devoted to the game tell me chances are it was a misfire...as stated, aantother case of a really cool idea ruined by bad execution.
OH, I am sure the game has it's fans....A if it on the GOG wishlist you will find a few people saying how it was the greatest thing ever...but every game gets that..

The-Business: New company in the catalog: CLICK Entertainment. Mobygames list two games for them:
Barbie: Super Sports (published by Mattel)
Throne of Darkness (published by Sierra On-line, so we will likely get that one)
Awesome. While I can't say whether or not it's a good game, it does have 1,301 votes currently, which is a decent amount (in the context of the wishlist). :)

The end of that trailer has a Steam logo but no GOG logo, though I suppose that might just relate to the pre-order.

If you go to http://www.thetownoflight.com/ and click on 'What's included?' in the Humble widget, you'll be given a Steam release date of 26th Feb. last year, so this may not have been the best planned of launches.

This game was in SCPM's list. I had not watched that trailer so didn't know there was no GOG logo, might be it's another game we might get way after Steam gets it (or not at all).
The game was released last year on Steam:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/433100/The_Town_of_Light/

The trailer is most likely for the launch of the console versions, as well as the physical PC version, with Nordic as the distributor. However, since the game is currently only available on Steam and Humble Store, I have a gut feeling that Nordic will also have distribution rights for other digital stores and I wouldn't be surprised if GOG was one of them.

I just wanted to say, I bought this way back in the day. Still have the box/disc kicking around somewhere. It's a very unique game, even if in setting alone, for the time and for a Diabloesque RPG. It's good fun.

If it came out here, no one will care about discrepancies between reviews or issues. GOG would make it work, it would be a classic that already has a cult following, and it would garner some sales. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

As for the reviews..72 out of 100 is a bad review? That's on average. Back then, top game editors still gave it a review in the 70's. That's the "good" range, not sub-par or poor.

Furthermore, any bit of complaint or bad review or bigotry I can think of would probably be geared toward it being a very strong Diablo clone, but GOG lovers feed off of that. Back then it would have been a direct stab at peoples prized Diablo games, which were still newer with the second entry. There were various other clones as well, so another Diablo clone but with a Japanese mythic/lore setting just reskinned it for some. Any complain would be simple frustration over it being similar. Other issues may be UI, game mechanics, or "insert personal bias here"

I hope it shows up soon. I've been waiting for it for a long time, since it doesn't work for me any more.

Anyone can read about it more here:
