Matewis: Ugh, I have difficulty looking/listening to anything RDR related. I'm still waiting for a PC release, and I don't imagine that is ever going to happen :( which is a problem for me because RDR is one of those games that I want to experiencefor the first time on a PC with everything maxed out :P

That Borderlands song is awesome tho!
I feel for you. I was describing on another thread today how I originally bought my XBOX just to play RDR. Totally worth it.
The precursors remix of STAR CONTROL 2 is not bad:

Seriously, these songs perfectly fit the Borderlands atmosphere!!

Both Borderlands games (and their DLCs) have fitting soundtrack. They're just awesome.
I almost forgot:

Games:
Terry Pratchett's Discworld 2 - Eric Idle - That's Death

Eric Idle (from Monty Python) speaks Rincewind in this game too if I remember correctly, I had a lot of fun with this one.

I see your bad-guy song The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - Hellfire
and raise you Be prepared.
If I'm honest, it's not as epic, but I think it's 'cooler'. The hunchback's antagonist creeps me out :P
I haven't found any epicier than this:

Pick of Destiny: Rock Off

Not epic, but quite a haunting piece of movie music:

The Underneath: The Green Head

Soundtrack of Brütal Legend was pretty epic too.
Suicide Mission/Mass Effect 2 is the most epic one i can think of right now, that one was just awesome.
Not sure if it really fits the "epic" description but it is awesome nevertheless: Intro from Captive (Amiga)

Matewis: and raise you Be prepared.
Be Prepared is awesome, and Jeremy Irons (and Jim Cummings) does a great job.

While we're on Disney villains, one of my favourite epic Disney villain songs is The Mob Song from Beauty and the Beast. Richard White's intentionally overly dramatic performance is fantastic. What's more is that it contains the line "Screw your courage to the sticking place!", which I find to be an awesome turn of phrase.

Another favourite movie song of mine, that I at least consider quite epic, is the opening song of Desperado: Los Lobos & Antonio Banderas - Cancion del Mariachi.

Matewis: Some of my favorite music is composed for movies/games, and every so often there is this amazeballs epic piece. For example:

Toto - Big Battle from the 1980s film Dune (listen till the end)
Jason Hayes - Stormwind City from WoW
Paul Houseman - Day of Days. I don't think this is in a film/game, but nevertheless it ought to be.

Any other favorites? It's always exciting to learn about a new song/artist

I can kind of comprehend how nasa engineers can build a spaceship, in the sense that, if I were about 50 times more intelligent then I might be able to understand how all the pieces fit together and adhere to very particular design and material specifications probably based on hundreds of research papers studying the behaviour of materials in space and at high/low temperatures etc. But one thing that I cannot for the life of me comprehend is how someone can manage to compose a good song, much less epic songs such as these.
That Toto - Big Battle song makes me want to search for a giant sand worm so I can ride one like a Fremen warrior.

Epic songs for an epic movie.

I was JUST going to post Conan. :)
Darren Korb is amazing. Sends shivers down my spine. I want Supergiant Games to make another game just to get the soundtrack.

Also, damn you for posting those before me :-P

Matewis: I think I might now have to go out and get Bastion :)
Yes, yes you do. Both Bastion and Transistor are beyond brilliant.
