I'm glad we can now finaly buy Skyrim on GOG.
BUT unfortunately the GOG version of the game (at the moment 09.10.2022) doesn't come with the Cretion Kit.
Which is a essential Tool for those who create all the content that makes this game still somewhat relevant.
This means that you still need a Steam version to make or modify mods.
I feel like if they are charging basically full price for an update, then they can eat some butt.
Unless they are adding a literal entire games worth of content thats equal to the amount that Skyrim itself added in its original form, then they can charge that much.
If they are simply just adding a ton of mods that other people made and compiling them into one update and then charging you full price, they are basically having you pay them to do what you could do for free.
I know some of the mods need updates and don't have them outside of this DLC, but honestly, they shouldn't be charging you even close to full price. Maybe 20 bucks max. I'm tired of gaming companies just selling the same old thing over and over and charging full price for it, we should just stop buying the shit from them and they'll be forced to come out with something new... that is unless you are all fine with just buying the same thing over and over again.
Games do this because people still pay them money when they release it, so they now know that people will buy the same thing over and over if there is a change in the title, even if the game virtually is the same.
Skyrim reaching the land of the (drm-)free is like the final stone in the infinity gauntlet. Hundreds of hours in this game over on Steam, one more Steam game to uninstall.
I've been wanting a DRM-free version of Skyrim for some time now (along with everybody else), so this is great news! Unfortunately I use MO2, so I'll have to wait a bit for them to make it compatible. It will happen though, and then life will sing like a graduate of the Bard's College!
