So far it succeeds everywhere other grand strategies fail. Unlike other grand strats I've encountered no game breaking bugs or design issues. And there's most definitely the tip of the iceberg, scratching the surface feel to it, where there's always something more the further down you go. I'm sure it'll run out of that at some point, but that's always the case.
It's also still in early access and they've got definitely some more fleshing out to do (like more details on why a mission was aborted by a councilor or more/better organised info in tooltips), so I guess we'll see how the development goes. But at the current stage even in early access it's better than pretty much any fully released Grand Strategy I've tried; and it doesn't ask for a bajilion dollars and dlcs.
Still in Early Access, but has many new gameplay elements for 4X and tactical strategy games. Not many bugs. If you like more realistic space games you might become obsessed with it. Still going through major changes while in early access.
The new update has introduced significant UI improvements and quality-of-life features. It also made the game harder, but if you know anything about the goal of the game - or its creators - you would also know that it is the point.
Saving Earth from the aliens is a Sisyphean task.
However, there is one thing holding the aliens back, and it Earth being one massive crab bucket full of the human factions fighting one another and the aliens.
It was a bit rought at start before I got how the game works. Im having a blast on earth, have not really dont much in space yet. And its already worth playing.
From the perspective of a more casual fan of this genre, Terra Invicta has a lot of interesting stuff going on. I've enjoyed figuring it out. It is a slow-paced game with a lot of moving parts. I almost refunded but I'm glad I stuck with it now, it takes more than an hour or two to get into. Worth the $30 I paid IMO.
