Wang's stupid wisecracks kept me smiling from start to finish, and the variety of melee and ranged combat and the loot that dropped from it was satisfying enough that I came back with friends for more. It's great fun in solo or in co-op, and its small degree of randomization is enough to keep the action fresh for at least a few runs.

Shadow Warrior 2 is a beautiful, fast-paced shooter with a ton of guns. There's an RPG-like layer of additional skills and extensive weapon customization, a great cast of characters, and nothing to get in the way of pure reckless shooting. And when you're done with the campaign, there's four difficulty levels, New Game+, and co-op play waiting for you.

A worthy successor to Borderlands
The amount of fun this game offers is incredible. The shoot n loot never gets old, the generated levels make sure that playing a level again is a different experience than your first time, and the upgrade system for the weapons keeps the side missions viable throughout the whole playthrough.

Best Dismemberment Simulator Ever!
Fantastic game. Started playing to test out my new GPU, ended up delaying watching my favorite animes of the season. Slicing apart monsters, robots and humans every which way has never been this visceral! Oh, I guess there are guns in it too, didn't use them much aside from the beginning before all the melee skills had been unlocked. Thank you GOG and Devolver Digital for the fantastic gift!

It's just a simply fun game.
It's just a fun game. It's not going to set any records or elevate any new standards. But, it didn't set out to do so. The developers set out to create a fun game that minimizes the frustrations, provides good, all around challenge, and keeps you engaged the whole time. The game ramps up the difficulty at a good pace, encourages you to use the game mechanics, and provides you many options to play the game as you see fit. The graphics are fine. The engine utilizes some neat features to tweak that even keep the frame nice on my Nvidia 1050Ti in my elderly i7 920. It looks good. The gameplay is great with many options to customize Lo Wang's abilities, weaponry, and powers to how you want to play the game. And the weapon variety is just fun to explore. The plot line continues where the new era Shadow Warrior left off, and feels competently written. It is worked into the flow of the game in an unobtrusive manner that you make you want pay attention to, rather than it being thrust upon you relentlessly. Overall, for the price point, you can easily get your money's worth and enjoy the experience as you please.

Well worth it's full price !
I got this game for free during the gog anniversary and i feel bad about it (still bought the missing DLCs btw), because this game deserves every cent of it's full price. I never played the original Shadow Warrior so i can't talk for those who did, but i personally found Shadow Warrior 2 amazing ! The game has already a lot of different mechanics in itself, and combined with the hudge variety of weapons, upgrades, and skills, it allows for an almost endless variety in playstyle customization. The story feels like the half-parody of a japanese action movie, and i mean it in a good way, with it's characters and enemies seemingly drawn from japanese folklore, sci-fi cyberpunk, and modern Japan, all at the same time... and a main character who is a complete d&%! that keeps making sex jokes whenever he talks to somebody. My only gripe with this game is that the stages and the enemies are kinda repetitive. Except for certain story segments, the stages are different sections from the same 4 large open maps everytime, and the enemies are often variants of the same models), but considering everything else, you don't even think about it anyway. Also, i don't play on multiplayer but people mention that it only works with gog galaxy, so keep that in mind in case you want to get into this with a friend.
