Quest For Infamy is a role-playing adventure game where you assume the identity of Mr. Roehm - a scoundrel who is on the run from his latest scrape. When he is stuck in the Valley of Krasna for a bit, he decides to take on some work to pass the time. He finds himself in the middle of Kingdom in tubulence - as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle between several ambitious residents of the Valley.
Make yourself some money to move on with, and try and avoid controversy as you bide your time before you can leave the valley. Defend yourself from monsters and brutes who would do you harm! Build a reputation for yourself - and you just might find yourself not avoiding trouble, but on a quest for infamy!
Choose your path to infamy - play as the sneaky rogue, the bold brigand or the crafty sorcerer.
Multiple paths and branching story-lines create a different experience every time you play.
Lovingly hand-crafted retro style graphics bring you back to the classic era of adventure gaming.
I know this is an indie game but I can't let the producer get away so easy. This game is terrible compared to QFG and I don't think this will charm new players so easily.
The main character is funny but yet it feels so far from the main plot. The game is also tiresome and the combat is sub-par.
I was really looking forward to this game but I was really dissapointed.
Make sure you check some let's play on youtube first, I know I didn't...5 hours into the game and I simply can't get myself playing it again.
Cheers
Ouch! The voice acting sounds like someone talking to me in the bathroom from the next stall over. I'd give it a 4/5 if the voice acting was changed to scrolling text. Game is solid otherwise. But I cannot bring myself to play it with Steve from accounting telling me how to print a report when I'm trying to take a crap.
I am a huge fan of the "Quest For Glory" series, so when I discovered that there was a game called "Quest For Infamy," I had to check it out. I was not disappointed. "Quest For Infamy" is like "Quest For Glory" for adults. The characters are completely different, but the gameplay is very similar to "Quest For Glory." It's an adventure game with RPG elements. You buy supplies in town and find things on the way. You fight and kill enemies. You solve puzzles and complete quests. Time passes. Your character needs to sleep and eat. Those are among the similarities. The main difference is in the characters. Rather than playing as Devon Aidendale, a young adventurer who wishes to play a hero, you play as William Roehm, an older man who is kind of a selfish jerk. You must do a lot of killing in this game, in fact this game has a sword icon that you can use for killing. Another thing that distinguishes this from "Quest For Glory" is the tone, set in large part by the language. The characters in this game use language that you would never hear in a "Quest For Glory" game. All in all, it's a very good game. The story is good. The music is good, I especially love the nighttime music in some places. The pleasant surprise of the game is that the voice acting is good. Infamous Adventures previous games, remakes of "King's Quest 3" and "Space Quest 2," did not have good voice acting. This company has gotten better at its craft.
The one problem with this version of the game is that there is a bug that is almost a game-breaking bug. Without spoiling anything, let's just say that you better get Prospero's teleportation pill as soon as you can, or you will be stuck later for no reason other than an apparent bug. Supposedly "Infamous Adventures" knows about this and is planning on working on it.
I was skeptical at first because of some of the reviews and I was worried that I would be disappointed. Actually this game is awesome. The backgrounds are beautiful and the speech is a plus. I also like the user interface. I haven't beaten the game yet, but so far the story is interesting and funny. Best of all, It feels like I'm playing Quest for Glory for the first time again.
I wrote a review yesterday, but lost it so make it short. All I wanna say this game earned its place among the classic titles of adventure games. Playing as a scoundrel is always fun. But Roehm has his own code and righteous allmost all the time :). Narrator is amazing really liked it, even if he calls me moron stupid f**k. Beautiful places - and girls - really good story with happy ending.
