Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat.
Story
You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
A Relentless Campaign
There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.
Please note: The DRM-Free version of DOOM (2016) is single-player only. Multiplayer and online functionality for SnapMap are not included. SnapMap content is unlocked by default.
And it just doesnt translate through video. The flow, the performance optimization, even if you run integrated AMD RDNA/Vega graphics (as long as you have healthy ram and VRAM allocated through BIOS), this runs at high or medium depending on resolutions and FPS targets. Even on Vega graphics it can run smooth and looks fantastic. The only downside, really, is the ungodly size in the hard drive. Im going to take a chance to run Eternal on a mini PC now.
This title, when compared to DOOM Eternal, appears as the "for the noobs" but that's not a bad thing; there is nothing better than coming home from work and ripping demons in half with little effort at lower difficulties or fights that will have you leaning forward on nightmare.
It's kind of like Doom 3, where you played as Doom Dude (not to be confused with Doomguy, completely separate person), but less messing around with wacky touchscreen interfaces, and more shooting imps in the face with a (not an RNG rubber chicken) shotgun.
Ft. Serious Sam crescendo events where many demons spawn in an area and you have to shoot them in the face to proceed.
The Oblivion remake isn't coming on here for many years, but this is a pleasant surprise. Thanks lads.
