Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat.
Story
You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
A Relentless Campaign
There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.
Please note: The DRM-Free version of DOOM (2016) is single-player only. Multiplayer and online functionality for SnapMap are not included. SnapMap content is unlocked by default.
Great game! The shooting is meaty (hehe), the levels are interesting to explore, the plot is simple but you want to follow it, and mute Doom Slayer has more charisma than a lot of talking videogames characters. And that music! There are no weak elements here. A must buy!
P.S. No multiplayer? Who cares? Single player is the main course here.
Man this took some time to get released here. Great game and still has the identity of the original doom games. Eternal is more a platformer compared to this but also a good game. I have preserved the steam version already but gladly grap it again for the offline installers. Still sad that it took so long. Highlight recomandable
Got a notification on GOG Galaxy that this was on GOG and I snapped it up within a minute. I now have it on Switch, Steam (through a physical DVD version), and GOG. But I want this DRM-Free. Exactly why I nabbed it again.
As for the game, it's a modern masterpiece of action gaming. Certainly one of the best games of the last decade, and will likely go down as one of the best games ever made. It feels amazing the entire time, and it turbo boosted a classic franchise to the forefront of gaming once again.
I just wish more modern games performed this well. The performance is fantastic here, and the game still looks amazing. There is no reason for you to ever skip over buying this game. If it's available, you should own it. So buy it.
