The game grips you from the get-go with the cycles dynamic, not too harsh but keeping you engaged, I felt the quests were meaningful and the stories a delight to hear. The interactions felt organic, and the twists built a very compelling story. This game is 99.9% its story, art and dialogues, and it builds from these perfectly. Highly recommended. Played it for 3 days straight.
wouldn't have known about this game if gog didn't send me an email advertisement. very glad they did. beautiful storytelling, "cyber" ui, easy game play and a plot that draws you in, grips you tight, and takes you for a long ride. so many choices you want to make but you won't have the time, resources or ability to. so you'll have to play again, and again, and again. it's a 2020's "choose your own adventure" story that is well crafted. i'm already looking forward to citizen sleeper 2.
if you want something more than hack-and-slash, or side-scrolling jumpers, pick this gem up.
I cannot convey to you how good this turned out to be. The writing is fantastic, the characters are complex and believable, the choices meaningful and painful at times. What looks like a simple game on the surface is actually filled with deep emotional intelligence and reflection. Highly recommended.
Rcently redone the game before the launch of Citizen sleeper 2, what a game. Probably one of my favorite game of all time.
I am an average scifi/cyberpunk/biopunk enjoyer, so i was first attracted by the setting and the art of Guillaume Singelin which i read some works in the past.
But this game hit me so hard the first time i completed it. I never played a game where i related so much to the characters and became so invested in it. Beside the nature of the game being mostly reading and resource management.
I will always admire the way the very nature of the gameplay make you feel as a player: the rythm of life, cycling, creating some routine. Yet feeling the pressure of daily survival.
Everything is well written, every dialog/event is a good read. Every character feel like someone. And it's a pleasure to get to know them, to like them or juge them sometime. The story is good. The game cover and touch a lot of different themes/ideas: it is about people, about finding a place, about walking forward, about fear, about love. It also talk about politics, about society, anarchism, about leadership and freedom.
Another thing i didn't expected why launching the game is the OST, it's composed by Amos Roddy, who also worked on the game Kingdom. I didn't know his work but the OST of CS is a masterpiece and is a big part of the experience for me. It is also wisely used during the game, with silence when needed, and emotive piece when appropriate.
I can't express how i am glad this game exist, how i felt when first completed it, and also all the emotions/feeling, thinking that i had while playing it.
I will never forget this game, and i hope that if you choose to play it, it will also take a special place in your heart.
