Amazing game. The art is gorgeous, the narrator is incredible, the story is sweet and and scary and heartfelt. The variety of play styles for each character keeps things interesting throughout.
The game has its charm with the visuals, the music and the narrator providing a great setting for the gameplay that was by far my favorite part, being able to control all the "classes" made for a great experience that never felt old, I finished each level at least once with each character and by the end I was so overpowered taht the last boss had no chance against me
I strongly recommend it if you enjoy games like diable or grim dawn, is not as complex or as long, but is worth the price
The game has amazing pixel art, fantastic music and sound effects, great gameplay, a briliant world, and a great story. It has some Rogue-lite elements to it, a classic arcade overhead action interface, a host of different playable characters with their own styles/strengths/weaknesses in play, and a gameplay loop combining the classic get-stronger-to-advance-story setup.
There are 3 main areas with 3 subdivisions. Each subdivision has a boss and each area has a bigger boss. Along the way there are an assortment of side-quests and story moments that expand the scope of the game.
At its heart it is a game about good vs evil, right vs wrong, life vs death, how old sins cast long shadows, the power of redemption, and the importance of family. As obvious as those things sound when describing a game, they've been in short supply the last few years in culture and entertainment.
The bottom line is it's a fantastic game in every way. I can't recommend it enough.
