Devs abandoned this game on GOG
DO NOT BUY this game!!! After dropping a few paid DLCs here, the devs have abandoned the GOG version while the Steam version still gets all the free patches, such as online co-op. Talked to their publisher and they want you to buy the full game again on Steam to be able to play with others online. Do not support these thieves!

Neat little gem
The game is a pixel-art ARPG/Roguelite that focuses on Story. The unique Point is that you play as one Character of the Family 'Bergsons'. Each Character feels unique and has enough mechanics to enjoy even when you are not using your Favourite. For the playstyle just imagine Bastion meeting The Binding of Isaac, you enter dungeons, clear rooms and fight Bosses. I enjoy this game and would recommend it.

Abandoned on GOG
Shame, never going to support any other game from Dead Mage / 11 bit studios. Over a year ago, they claimed that the last update that is available for steam users will be coming to GOG users too. Yes, over a year ago, and no updates since.

I don't like Rogue games
I didn't know this game was roguelite, but I'm glad I bought it. I love that this game actually has a story. Not overwhelming, but savory pieces delivered here and there. Enough for you to connect with the characters. Absolutely worth the money. If you are cheap with games like me, you can wait for sale. But I do think you could make an exception with this one, it's a gem. Watch gameplay and be the judge.

So I came up for air about 5 hours later
As a Kickstarter backer on this I have been eagerly awaiting this game to release, and at long last I can say that I'm going to be sinking in more than a few hours into this game. After the beginning tutorial you are thrust into the world with the first two Bergsons and the starting area. The Bergsons play very differently, and its going to be a delight to unlock the rest and use them. As well there is persistent unlocks, so the more you play these avatars, you can bring upgrades to all your characters, not just the ones that you play the most. But the thing that took most of my focus was the art. Not only the gorgeous pixel art and animations, but also the backgrounds and layering of the various sprites on screen, if you can even call them sprites. I kept turning around to show my girlfriend and tempt her to join me in playing with me, and i think it will have worked for future sessions. So after the 5 hours i spent, i checked the time, cursed the lost time, and went to bed, but i will eagerly go back for more.
