Cons: The game is short and i makes many references to the Whispered World. People that haven't played the first game may be feel confused because of this. Long loadingtimes between the screens. Pros: The game is short and does not try to stretch the story with nonsense, i completed the game on one day. With its superb visual style an great voice acting it's like watching the neverending story, but with a chance to do your own decisions, it also has alternaitive endings. (Something i missed in its prequel) The main focus of Silence is defintly the story. The puzzles and riddles are fair and most times very easy to solve, also the balance acts are easy. A nice game when you try to relax and way more interactive then the Telltale Games.
Pro: Trine 3 is a nice game, that came with a funny story, great artwork, loveley music and talented voiceactors (at least in german). Con: The new 3D setting can be irritating sometimes. In some situations i had troubles to hit enemy/platforms, because i had problems to aim than in the Z axis. Also the main story is very short, you have to master some sidequests to advance in the few main levels and the game ends with an cliffhanger. Trine: Artifacts of Power - Episode 1 would be a more fitting name for the game. I hope they will release a Episode 2. Trine 3 is a good game, it simply dimeshes between the brilliance of Trine 1 and 2.
Obduction is a great Game for Fans of "Walking Simulators", Myst and Puzzles with an high end gaming PC. In the 2nd half of the game you will walk many miles through this gorgeous landscapes just to resolve one puzzle. Obduction is full with beautiful strange machinery that needs to get online again and Books/Journals you should read. Without reading skills you will miss the strange story and will fail with the puzzles. I've read some reviews complaining that the game is to hard. IMHO the puzzles are easier the in Myst and Riven, but of the same mathematical and mechanical nature. I don't know how many hours/days i have spend enjoying this game, because time stood still for me when i clicked the Obduction icon. Thanks to the stunning graphics, the great soundtrack, carefully crafted to fabulous alien Worlds the game sucked me into its own dimension and motivated me to explore every corner of this new world.
i remeber playing the Rebel Assault II Demo that came on CD of a PC Games magazine back in the 90ies. It was awesome! Sadly i had not enough money to buy the game back in the days. :( Rebel Assault II was a critical point in the history of the Star Wars franchise. This game was the first media to incorporate live-action actors and footage in the Star Wars universe since Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The stormtrooper armor, weapons, helmets and suits seen to be worn by the actors are the actual props seen in the original trilogy, taken from the archive storage of Lucasfilm. [source: wikipedia] Rebel Assault is an "on rails shooter" mostly in space. So the gameplay lacks some freedom, but it compensates it well with it's story, cutscenes and musical background. So it's some kind of an interactive actionmovie.
To the moon tells a lovely story. Opposite to some "Walking Simulators" this game has some game mechanics, but neither are they challenging nor do they change the outcome of the story. "To the Moon" is an great alternative for watching a movie. Sit down, start the game, explore the area, talk with people, and enjoy the dialogues, music and story. Meanwhile pick up some items and solve some puzzles, so that the expirience won't be to passive.
