DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition

More of a Walking Simulator

Distraint is a short game and i wouldn't call it a horror adventure, dont't expext to be scared of this game, but its has a kind of Franz Kafka storytelling. The focus is clearly on the script with some easy solveable puzzles an a few not nonsense puzzles. Those can be solved easely, because there are very vew points to interact with.

Syberia: The World Before Prologue

Papetura

Puzzler with wonderful Atmosphere

It's hard not to compare Papetura with games from amanita design. Papetura captures your senses from the very beginning with its stunning backgrounds, dense soundtrack and great sound effects. These are the games tools for storytelling. Papetura has no need for words. The puzzles are fair challenges and the game offers in build hints. At some points your character can die, but you won't suffer harsh penalties. If you have enjoyed Machinarium, Samoros, or even Lumino City, you should grab this game. The only thing I'm missing is a digital deluxe edition including the soundtrack.

Call of Cthulhu®

a nice Adventure for HPC fans

You have enjoyed a few stories form HP Lovecraft? you like walking simulators or japanes Novels? You might enjoy this game. You are an Expert in the myth of Lovecraft? This game will annoy you. You never heard of H.P. Lovecraft? This game will confuse you and maybe will harm your saninty. IMHO the game feels like an Cthulu Pen & Paper session with an rookie gamemaster using a good premade plot. The story, the island and many encounters are well made, but you don't really get the hang with your NPCs "friends" and your skills do not matter most of the time. I really loved the glooly doomy touch. After a few minutes i knew i was doomed on this forsaken island, while everybody else had hope in their hearts.

Creaks

a nice and calm platform puzzler

Amanita are well known for their point and click adventures, Creaks uses the platform puzzler principle instead. Unlike "Another World", or "Abes Odyssee", There are no wapons and you don't have to kill your enemies. Creaks also has a much slower pace then classical platformers The game rewards you with solid controls, nice detailed graphics and animations and a good soundtrack. If you are a fan of Machinarium and "Another World" you will love this game.

Gorogoa

Stunning, Short & Easy

This game is a wonderful expirience with breathtaking visuals and an very unique expirience in gameplay. If you are a fan of Monument Vally, Gorogoa will suit you. In my opinion the puzzles where very easy to solve. Each of them where fascinating, but easy to discover. Gorogoa also has a very short story to tell. For this reasons i played througt the whole game in ~2 hours. I enjoyed every minute in this game, but 120 min gameplay for € 15 is way to short.

Stories Untold

A short story with little gameplay

Stories Untold telles great Stories an builds a great atmosphere and is full of this charming 80ies mood. It's a great peace of entertainment on a cold winter evening. The puzzles and riddles in this game are trivial. The most challenging part is messing with this stupid textparser from Ep. 1. IMHO the actions in Ep 2 & 3 where very repetitive, but they add a meaning to the plotline. IMHO its the most cinematic game i've ever played.
